Just to explain. The jump as it is now starts from 0 strength, power, whatever you want to call it. The number that determines the height of the jump. Increase that variable in the code an you are halfway done. All you need to tweak after that is when in the lifespan of a keystroke that variable should start increasing.
Depending how they actually connected the keystroke to the jumpcode there should be several ways of doing it that way.
To add another layer ontop that simulates a minimum amount of time the jump key can be pressed might be simple but also stupid.

Basically you seems to think Nadeo will fuck this up while I actually think they learned something from the fulljump implementation.

Yes thats true, and have always been true and always will :P I just dont want to give them the chanse. Not over something that I feel is not making a from day to day problem. The risk is to big for the reward for me thats all..

I did not get a reply earlier is the problem the super small micro jump for you, or just the ability to do small jumps to sprint? becos that affect ALOT of the out come. A brilliant fix from nadeo that solvs everything from micros but still makes 0.100 click jumps to sprint possible with zero other problems to come with it. I would not have a problem with ofc..

But that is living in a dream world m8.. And to alot of ppl in this thread they will not see the diffrens from alot of players doing normal 0.150ish jumps to sprint with that they call micros.. So we would have a new thread and a new one untill we would have only full jump and that will not happen.. And the only thing that come out of it is a less uniqe game.

And if ppl want to cheat they will always cheat, why break the game in the impossible chase to try and fix it?

Personally I'd like to see a real high minimum jump, just to get the tactical gameplay more in there. It has a certain kinda flavour. Other then that I can't say I'm personally bothered but I do see/hear a lot of whine and bitching that just isn't good for the community as a whole.
Well except for the nojumpatall-to-sprint that is possible now. That is borderline gamebreaking since it removes the cost of sprint completely. Doesnt need to be much of a jump but there should be a real cost. On a fence duel your opponent shouldn't just twitch then have fullsprint in a situation where the real spirit/concept of the game dictates he has to pay with a jump to get that sprint. And I'm taking about those situation where noone will accept that cost cause a good defender will take advantage of it.

I'll hold my hands up! Yes I'm a little skeptical. I'm sure Nadeo can do a great job as long as they are not influenced to much by regular players. Almost every game is developed with input from players, but how much influence should they have over the development process? While some demands might be popular with the majority of players and so merit consideration, there will always be small groups of players who make questionable requests. Obviously not every idea can or should be accommodated.

I trust the developers.. they listen to their fans, they know what is and isn't a good idea.
Is tweaking the Progressive Jump a good idea? I'm not so sure..

Like nydde, I'm done with this thread now.

Sure ;) lemme see how you jump exactly the same height EVERYTIME

please let me show you? I can do it, really, I can show you with my Logitech G700 or a sucky mouse I bought for 10 euros a couple of years back :P

And also, just to end the Macro discussion, some people started using micro, then it BOOMED around march april, when EVERYBODY started to learn it, it became popular, that is why so many was/is doing it, it got mainstreamed basically :p

let me get this straight : random /casual gamer wich know nothing about the competitive scene complain like little kids about MACROS about a movement wich is used in the 90% of the game mechanics nowdays , def&atk (while all the pros like in lan & competition always used the progressive/microjump, i never seen someboday complain about that) ; they rage about macros in the forum while nobody ever seen them in an esl cup or any lan and you DEV just listen to them and remove the only thing wich made the game more spectacular and more fast based ? this is what happening right? i just wanna ask u something u ever seen in any shootmania lan or in any online cup somebody complaining about macro? seriously ANYBODY EVER SEEN THAT?
