Information regarding the Beta!

Post by Cerovan »

Hello everyone,

We are happy to announce the ShootMania Storm Beta is about to begin. To any player wishing to test the game, you have until the 2nd July 2012 to register.

To begin the Beta, all of the Alpha players will receive a 7-day Beta key. So it’s very important that all Alpha players have indicated a valid email in their ingame profile.

Now for the best part... Every player who has registered for the Beta on the official site will receive a 7-day ShootMania Storm Beta key!

But that’s not all, a new mode will also appear in the Beta : “Siege”, a 5 vs 5 competitive mode.

So to everyone interested in playing ShootMania Storm, register now at http://www.shootmania.com before it’s too late !

Finally, don’t forget to watch this short video from the Alpha and to look at the three new screenshots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA3xFqGU0io

You're wording is confusing - the beta will only last 7 days? Players who are not in the alpha will play for 7 days? What about current Alpha players?

The beta will last longer than 7 days, in fact, it could be running for some months
Current Alpha users will have to sign up for the beta as well on http://www.shootmania.com, otherwise they wont be in the beta (or rather only for 7 days)

All players who are currently in the Alpha will get 7-day passes. That's over 3000 players already. That means, they will get a key that, when activated, will last 7 days.

All players who registered for the beta on shootmania.com will also receive 7-day passes. That means, they will get a key that, when activated, will last 7 days.

The length of the beta itself was not specified in this blog post. So we don't know that yet.

It's a closed beta though, as you can see on an image on shootmania.com. So I doubt the "pre-order to get the full beta" thing that worked in Canyon will apply here, at least not for this initial closed beta.

Agreed. That's the most likely scenario.

Actually they will use your email address that you've entered in your ManiaPlanet_Alpha profile in-game to send you your 7-day pass (if you were in the Alpha). Read what the blog said....

Good to know the aplha is being wrapped up and the game is going into beta

Something isn't quite clear.. We can only play for 7 days? Is that 7 days of playing time (168 hours) or 7 days to play after a key is activated ?
