me and a mate we tested it on like a VERY high range!
i mapped "shoot" on a keyboard key "." and i started shooting at my m8. he tryed to move exactly into the shot (wich wouldnt be hard though) but the rail actually was jumping arround him all the time he moved into my shot (and he seriously moved accurate to the last knowen position
i shot into the ground 1 time he went directly to the point where i shot into the ground and the next shot went WAY above his head. seriously thats not the railgun as intended.
i started having problems aiming with it. seeing other players shooting and hitting ppl beeing actually 1 or even 2 inches away from the model makes me curious.
so is that a bug? (to try to freaking troll me here its serious) or does the rail have kind of a way how it works (supposed to hit right into the middle of my CH right?)

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
i noticed that too when shooting very far. My crosshair was in the center of the player but no hit!
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
I haven't played much with the railgun, does it lean towards your direction of movement or something?
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
It seems to have a recoil on 100+ metres, thus not being accurate.
Also, shooting on the movements needs a little bit of practice too.

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
I'm actually kind of curious how this gun (the one shot one) actually works, I played quite a lot with it in Elite mode (and didn't done so bad with it), it seems to be hitscan even though there seems to be a delay, you even seem to hit moving targets better while aiming slightly behind them (bad hit boxes?). On long range it seems to be more or less luck to hit anything, even on not moving targets... am I right? Or is there more to it?

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
It has limited range and a firing time (0.2 seconds I think).
I am going to run more specific tests during the week.
When you have that firing time, when you click and when it shoots are two different positions in space-time.
That is the reason for lack of accuracy.
And yes, I believe there is recoil, I'd say 5% from the crosshair.

I saw rockets and rails flying through targets you have to aim behind... I didn't not saw this problem when i watch Shootmania tournament ...
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
You have to aim behind, if you shoot on the move.
As for tournament - indeed, albeit rail there had a delay too.

Re: Railgun not accurate!!
As for range I'm really interested if there is a limited one. Me and a friend tested this out, he stood perfectly still and I just kept backing up while shooting. At that time the longest shot was about ~120m, however just yesterday I managed with a ~140m shot on a warmup. However in a real match the longest I've been able to is ~100m.
Re: Railgun not accurate!!
It is limited, that I can say for sure.
Or it is not accurate at high distances.
I am now running series of tests, to determine precise values for all weapons.
Fire rate, reload time, range - when I collect the date, I'll write an article about it.
I think I will finish it to the end of this week.
