IDEAS: Player profile & faster sharing of content

Hi guys, its me AGAIN. :shock: :D

Ive got another suggestion & some ideas. Maybe they arent all good, but let me explain.
It is my opinion that the player profile page could be improved a bit, by adding some features.
Check the screenshot to see what I mean:

CURRENT PLAYER PROFILE

SUGGESTED PLAYER PROFILE ( imagine it being designed good.)

Changes:

PROFILE**
- Option to send messages ( sends 'email' to inbox )
--> I played SM 15months now and I névér used the inbox.
- Show 'Paris, France' in stead of "World|Europe|France|Blabla|Paris"
- Shows information about the team the player is in + links to the website & social media of that team
- If the team is recruiting you can click on the button to "join team" ( sends 'email' to inbox )
---> This should be linked to the maniaplanet-teams.

** When creating a maniaplanet-team there should be an option: Recruiting : Yes/No

WHY?
- Quick information about the player/team-status
- Recruitement process is made easier.
- Looking for a team/player is easier now.
- Players looking for a team can get a better idea of what team they are joining ( website + social media )

---------------------------------------------------------------------

CROSSHAIR**
- Added the possibilty to instantly download the crosshair so you can use it yourself.
suggestion: Maybe show 3 previews of the crosshair ( rocket, laser & nucleus )

SKIN**
- Added the possibilty to instantly download the skin so you can use it yourself.
-The skin can be turned 360° to have a better look.
suggestion: Maybe instead of the arrows you can use mouse-drag/swipe

HORN**
- Added the possibilty to instantly download the horn so you can use it yourself.
- play/pause button( some horns are annoying so cancellation can be a relief. )


** If the player doesnt want to share the file then the download button will not be shown.
In stead it will display:
A. Nothing ( no download button )
B. An icon that tells you it cant be downloaded ( "DOWNLOAD LOCKED" "ITEM NOT SHARED" )

** The player can choose if these items are downloadable.

** Items can cost planets.

WHY?
- Faster sharing of files.
- More active economy. ( people actually spend their planets )
- Players actually get to see new content ( because its not always easy to find new horns/skins/crosshairs/ etc )

STATISTICS**
- Removed some stats
- Added winratio
--> Gives you a better idea of the player's skill.

- Added average score ( rail vs rockets )
--> Gives you a better idea of the player's skill.

- Rail accuracy
--> Gives you a better idea of the player's skill.

-Longest railshot
--> So you can see who has the longest! :mrgreen: if you know what I mean... uhu

** There is still a lot of space available so this list of stats can be made longer and show all sorts of stats.

WHY?
- It motivates players to improve their stats
- It motivates players to get that epic longshot we all love
- You can compare yourself to others
- Other players get a better "idea" of you.
- Makes recruitement easier.

Please note : Stats are never an accurate representation of someones skill. Its just something cool to have in the game and it mainly motivates players.

All of this should be redesigned into the new Shootmania-style ( metal look + neonlights )

If you download a file then it should be placed in a 'download-queu'. This way it will get downloaded at the best moment. This means it wont have any effect on the snap or gaming experience of you ( and others!! )

This new profile page should also be accesable when you arent playing.
example : open someones profile via the maniaplanet-chat.

The economy idea is brilliant but has to be supported in the process of pack creation too!

Since the things you want to download already seem to be on your screen, they must be in your chache already. The moment they are displayed, they are already downloaded so all the game actually would need to do, would be copying the file into your documents folder.
These are all good ideas, some more needed than others, but every single one of them would benefit the Maniaplanet experience.

I wonder why the Win/Draw/Loss counter from TMF didn't make it to Maniaplanet.
In addition to the ladder it always gave me a better idea of the people's skills.

Ow , yeah that makes sense!! You already see the crosshair, so its already downloaded somewhere... hmmmhmmm.
Well, anyways if it somehow is already in our cache, then make sure we can use it ourselves.
crosshairs are 100kb? ( = 1s download )

I dunno exactly how skins work and how they are downloaded right now, but it would be cool if we could see a "preview" in this profilepage and then choose to download it. Skins can be 25mb so this is a little more complex.

Also the skins are in the cache if they are already downloaded.
And if you turn off P2P generally, then you're probably not interested in others skins,
unless there was a possibility to have the buddies skins permantly cached or stored in a separate folder (Buddies\Skins\Models) for example.
If the user has a locator, then to get the link to his skin should be easy ;)

What I would like too see is numbers of multikills. Amount of double kills, maybe amount of triple kills, but I haven't seen one singe triple kill with the laser jet :/ And highest multikill including an icon of laser, nucleous or arrow. This wouldn't represent skill but it's something to shine with :D

Some good thinking! It sounds like my idea could actually work :yes:

I can currently get a skin & horn of someone else ( via manialink browser or other websites ), but its in a total different way. So in a way its already possible... Is this what you mean?? I just think my way sounds easier.

And tell me about the stats mate if you know something^^ If you know, we can know, right? :yes:

wow this actually sounds like a great idea and the work you put into the modified screenshot is really good. i expected it to be some half assed paint scribble. really like the crosshair/skin/horn thing.. skins not so much my cup of tea but it would indeed really enhance the feeling of the game. Also love that you've though about how some players might not want to share their horn/crosshair. The addition of an overall accuracy and win/loss ratio aswell as the fun "longest laser" is a really neat touch.

Actually looking at your screenshot I really cant see anything that looks out of place or wouldnt be beneficial for the game. though tbh, you can already add facebook/twitch/youtube etc in your profile, the way you've laid it out looks very professional and a lot cleaner. just while editing your profile, a single box to fill in with youtube: facebook: and if nothing is filled in, nothing appears. very smart looking tbh. well done on the post. good suggestions and i hope atleast some of them are implemented. It would suck if nadeo had designed exactly this and now it looks like theyre copying ur idea ;))

Might I just add that, although this is a great idea, there are much more important things that could be worked on instead which have already been covered in other topics so I dont need to name them here
