http://www.youtube.com/user/Kursix/videos This is my channel. I'm working on building a fan base and more videos. On the way is a video of myself playing Osu and Sonic Generations. I'm looking for Critiques game recommendations and any other advice/feedback you can give. If you like what you see please share it around and subscribe.
I'm mainly looking for critiques on:
-Phoenix.IV plays Shootmania 1 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RHFvvcGiKkQ#
-Phoenix.IV plays Shootmania 2 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nzERxgt2Y0c#
-The Schmiddus Bloopers http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OA1txCfbgPk#
-Kursix Plays Osu with commentary 1 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BiwsHTQqY8Q#
The other videos are old and are outdated experiments that I'm not all that proud of now. So just pay attention to my latest 4 videos.

Things can be alittle confusing to start with but you'll figure things out mate.

My biggest tip is to not make your posts look like advertisement for your youtube channel. The last sentence in the quote made me not wanna share. If people like what they see they will subscribe and share without you asking them.kursix wrote:http://www.youtube.com/user/Kursix/videos This is my channel. And if you want feedback on the videos you mentioned, why not check in the topics you made for those videos?

I know its a topic about feedback and I also totally agree with what plop said.
But if you want feedback by the right people, just simply write "I'm new to making videos and I would really like to receive feedback" in the video description.
But asking around (lets say maniaplanet forums) for feedback just doesn't seem right. Also you shouldn't go ahead and expect people to reply to your thread if its a day old, from what I see in this forum category only 2 topics got created/posted on.
Yeah over a 100 or so people viewed your thread, that's probably the amount of readers who actively read everything in this subforum. Most of them probably don't make videos, so cannot give good feedback, others just don't care because there are so many new YouTubers trying to get a so-called 'fan base'.
My best tip (just started making videos myself): Give people a good reason to watch your vids - is it funny, entertaining or does it have a lot of information / content to offer to the community?
It certainly doesn't have to be all three, but if its just a compilation of just playthroughs without commentary or your own input of some kind like text on screen, viewers aren't going to be that interested.
I did enjoy your bloopers video, but know that you can't just keep on making them on a regular basis due to obvious reasons

Re: Kursix Youtube Channel Critiques
One thought I had was attaching reviews of the game I'm playing to my videos either in the description or something like a pdf. Do you think would people would go for that? Would you actually read it? Or should I put the review in the video in commentary form?
Re: Kursix Youtube Channel Critiques
I would put it as commentary, that way people would hear the review and your thoughts on the game.

Re: Kursix Youtube Channel Critiques
My only hang up with commentary is I don't have a good voice. I'll link you this stream I co-casted. Personally I think it was one of my worst casting. Not proud of it at all. But I think you'll agree I don't have the voice for commentaries. You can make up your own mind here. http://www.twitch.tv/zwarrpiccolo/b/425203195 I come in around 9:30. If you've watched my videos you'll know I'm the captain of Phoenix.IV and my name is Kursix, don't get my voice confused with Piccolo who is the more yobbo/bogan Australian sounding one.
Re: Kursix Youtube Channel Critiques
I don't mind doing voice work so if you guys say it's ok I'll go along with it and do commentaries.

Re: Kursix Youtube Channel Critiques
Heard two great-sounding commentators so I don't know what your talking about not having a good voice
Well I guess its the accent that gives you the benefit in my eyes, you seem good to listen to and it would add a lot more to content to your videos, hearing your opinion on things and adding more interaction with your player base.
