Greetings,

back from the workbench and soon back to work on the next project im happy to announce the Shootmania Tears Developement Alpha.

Many of you know my Titlepack "Tears" which is a singleplayer designed pack to create "First Person Horror Storys" in Shootmania.


It all began 9 months ago with "Paranoia" and is now nearly as far as we will not work anymore on it.
There are many new items for the editor and a whole library of sound effects and music to unchain your fear.

Shootmania Tears got some new exclusive features like the "Event Manager" and the "Event Editor" those are 2 editor tools which are created to enable endless new features for events like "Botspawn" and other things which are normaly written in the script.

Before you download the new title you should read this instruction about the items and the soundfiles.

The Sounds:

"Tears" has 12 Soundpacks in it.

The sounds are from similiar horror games and mods.

Together you have 1.541 sound files to use them in your Horror Maps.

I sorted many of the sounds in the packs by adding a prefix to the name.
For example: V5_act_defibrillator2

V5 = The soundpack number

act = The type of sound

and after this there is the real name: defibrillator2

Here is a list for the prefixes, so you will know which type of sound you search:

act = Activation (example use: If the player found a secret way )

amb = Ambiance (its normaly no music, use it to underline the scary atmosphere)

ui = User Interface (use it to give a signal about quests or what the player has to do)

jump = Jumpscare (heavy, loud sounds to push the player in one moment to the limit)

mon = Monster (use it to scare people by let them know they could get killed soon)

mus = Music (many kinds of titels in it, normaly use it in special moments or for the atmosphere)

oth = Other (some sounds i could not give another description)

out = Outside (Treesounds, birds and other to expand the normal sounds of Shootmania)

react = Reaction (Sounds which show the reaction of the player about scaring events)

roeff = Room Effect (Sounds to create different room scenes like: water dripping)

scars = Scary Sounds (Short sounds which can also scare a player if they are played suddenly)

spk = Speaking (Voice sounds with text. Use it to insert some background story on your maps)

story = Story (Sounds like flashbacks which can bring a story into your map)

Sometimes i wrote the prefix not right or an other tag but you will know what it is by hearing the sound.

The Items:

There are over 120 items in the title and they are also sorted.

Debris: Stones and Rocks which can block the way

Furniture: normal room stuff like chairs, sofas, stoves, etc. .

****: Some small items like a plate and a knife (AND WHY THE FUCK IS "K ITCHEN" a forbidden word)

Labor: Burners, chemical bottles and more

Lamps: Some custom lamps (they are dynamic lamps cause no one wanted to show me how to create full lightsources)
Library: Books and more books + some shelfes

Organic: corpses and stffed animals

Ornament: Buildings like an altar

Prison: Torture stuff like an "Iron maid"

Statutes: Nothing to say about this is think :)

Storage: Barrels, Boxes and many more

There also some Items from maniapark in it.

The "Story Mode" script doesn't allow to load maps in LAN mode (is there a maptype attached to the script ?)

Is there also Tears maps included in the title pack? Thanks :thumbsup:

The titlepacks current state is for testing and to build the first maps with the community. I already have some finished on my PC which will be included into the Singleplayer.

The Script is right now still in developement and will be updated soon. In first place its for the Singleplayer.

I just want to know by let players testing it if the files are in the pack, cause i got some news from friends that for example the soundfiles are missing in the mediatracker, or the items. (For me everything is fine)

The menu will become custom and interactiv like the one in Shootmania Platform, but with Tutorial Maps and Custom storys.

Im also thinking about a Plugin for the menu, which connects to Maniaexchange to show you the newest storys and let you directly download them to play.

I set the first "Final" Release on the 31.10 ^^ (think you know what that day is).

edit: a suggestion,when the character runs over land is not real for me.... I mean if I'm building a house, maybe it would be good to have a block was ground, if there is not already.

I can't play Paranoia map - game crashes in every graphic settings, include lowest. Too big map for my PC :(
Castle Showcast works good.

Yep, the map is really power intensive.

But i am working on serveral horror storys which have more maps to split them into chapters.
This will work fine, cause each of the maps are not to big
