Mutliple Servers on one Physical Server

Postby Guyver1 » 17 Jul 2012, 20:19

So I have 2 servers running off one box
1 Joust Server
1 Elite Server

I can only see one of the servers in game

Do the servers need to run on different ports?

They are both running off the same Dedicated Server account from my player page

Yes, you need to change the XMLRPC port (5000 by default).

XML-RPC port is automatically changed anyway (so second server takes 5001 if 5000 is already used) and has nothing to do about server list. You just need one dedicated account per server.

thanks for that The_Big_Boo

Just to make 100% sure, the other server ports 2350 and 3450 do NOT need to be changed per server??

Cheers,

Leon.

Yes, same as XML-RPC port, the server takes first port number which isn't already used.

Last question.

I cant connect to my own servers from inside my LAN.

<force_ip_address></force_ip_address>
<server_port>2350</server_port>
<server_p2p_port>3450</server_p2p_port>
<client_port>0</client_port>
<bind_ip_address></bind_ip_address>
<use_nat_upnp></use_nat_upnp>

If I set force_ip_address to 192.168.0.253 then I can connect, but then no-one on the internet can connect...
And yet, If I host a server from inside my game, then it works with no issues and internet users can connect (this obviously involves changing the destination IP address of my port forwarding on my router to point to my gaming rig rather than my server. Its not a port forwarding issue)

What's the difference between force_ip_address and bind_ip_address??
I don't have a static ip and therefore cannot set a static external, internet facing ip address

None of them should be used, their use if for very special cases.

force_ip_address can be use in case the nadeo master don't see the right ip that is needed to join the server. The main case for it is if the outgoing http/https connection is not from the right source public ip (usually a unusual or transparent proxy)

bind_ip_address can be used in case the computer/server get 2 or more (public) ip and the dedicated don't use the right/wanted one unless using that option.

Because there is not a working LAN setting for maniaplanet 2 yet.

So what you actually try to do, is connect like if you where outside.
The game when running is taking ports 2350 and 3450, so you will need to
set your dedicated server to ports 2351 and 3451 (your dedicated might even have taken those because the normal port where occopied). Most likely you only have set 2350 and 3450 on your router and/or firewall, so that prevents
even yourself from connecting.
