Stickers??

Post by tomxp411 »

How do I create a custom sticker for my car? Can anyone point me to the right place? The stickers I created for my original TrackMania car don't work in TM2...

The Stickers self must Name "Sticker.tga" (with Alpha) and have a "Icon.dds" (Size 64x64 DXT1 no Alpha) on its side and both must saved in "\ManiaPlanet\Media\Painter\Stickers\StickerName\"

Can someone help me figure out what's wrong with my sticker? It doesn't show up in the list in-game. I've tried all sorts of things - turning on RLE compression, putting it in a .zip, even capitalisation on the file names. I had the folder in ManiaPlanet\Media\Painter\Stickers, with the folder containing the .tga and the DXT1 .dds file. It might just be something obvious I'm missing.

Here's a download for the .zip containing the folder with the .tga and .dds

I really need help understanding. I did put your car paint editor in easy though..

I don't know what: with Alpha means? I have made a folder in Painter\Sticker.tga\namesticker.tga
I am trying to do this with Irfanview ( was able to convert some .jpg's to .tga's) so I can make some 64x64 icons, should their file name be >Icon.dds and do I put them one with each sticker and each in its own folder? What is DXT1 no Alpha? mean?

Congratulation, you did wrong what you can do wrong. XD

1. "\ManiaPlanet\Media\Painter\Stickers\StickerName\" example: "\ManiaPlanet\Media\Painter\Stickers\MyTestSticker\Sticker.tga" and "\ManiaPlanet\Media\Painter\Stickers\MyTestSticker\Icon.dds" ... "MayTestSticker" = any Name you want for one Sticker, all other must named like it is, create another folder for another Sticker.

2. forget Irfanview, you need a Image Editor like GIMP (free) or Photoshop to create a Alpha Channel for the tga and to create a Icon.dds file.

3. all other... use Google what a Alpha Channel is and how you create it with an Image Editor, same like the DDS File Format.
