I'm not a fan of Steam either. At all.
Checkpoints and Multilap S/F blocks for all track style types.

Yes. We DEFINITELY need more checkpoint types. We can never have too many. Not even joking. And has there ever been a discussion about serious diagonal (45 degree) track pieces? Like diagonal straights, curves that are 45 degrees instead of 90, that kind of thing? I'm not saying that we need 360 degrees of freedom here--that would be nice, but think of the possibilities if you just give us 8 directions instead of 4, Hylis! ;)

How would you make connections of 45 degree bends? The road would end in a corner of the grid tile...

More CP blocks: Yes

with matching parts, everyhing is possible, but we are far away from "off limits" to make the mapping not too complicated ;)

They have made Chicanes that use 2x2, 2x3 & 2x4 grids so why not 45° angled parts too? It would be cool to connect blocks not always snapped to a grid but that might get complicated.

So does a straight road if you don't build things right! You can't be expected to have Nadeo make the tracks for you--that's up to you, the player, and to know the limitations of your build environment.

I like your idea, but please not only on dirt (based on 6-1 and 6-2) but also
  • Start, Multi-Lap, Checkpoints and Finish on blocks based on 4-2 Image and 5-2 Image
  • underground start and finish blocks
  • maybe a grass finish!
  • block 4-5-6 Image upside-down for loops
  • maybe 4-1-1 Image, 4-1-2 Image and 5-8-1 Image with bigger radius
Kind regards!
