Nice!
I'd love to know how this was created.

this is actually really cool, now i can go into stadium without having those huge bright lights, which is fantastic because the night sky in stadium is absolutely gorgeous, and the lights distract from it.

Please don't forget this feature was mainly created for the RPG maps.
It is not intended to have a 64x64 grid full of track blocks for "normal" Stadium.
Therefore please take care to make the maps not too heavy ;)

not with that attitude it isnt.

i personally care more about what it can do, rather what its intended to do.

I think you misunderstand Tmarc, bobo... he's saying the Stadium "evolution" of the maniaplanet engine isn't designed for a grid of that size, and using it that way, for normal stadium maps, could have unforeseen consequences -- definitely for fps and also likely for other aspects of the gameplay. He's not saying don't do it, he's saying keep in mind that wierd stuff might happen; and that since there will be performance issues, don't expect everyone to be able to play the maps you build.

I can see one potential use of this already: F1 tracks! :D

It's funny how changing one number in the xml file enables this feature in game. I'm guess Nadeo left it off since without the stadium it can look a bit unfinished unless objects are placed to obstruct the view.

Of course the game is called stadium so that could be it too. Maybe someone can make a stadium skybox for it.
