Start Finish Multilap Checkpoint Free Placement

How hard would it be to create the ability to place a Start, Finish, Multilap or Checkpoint over most any block in TM2?

I ask this question because there are times I'd like to make a track with a Start/Finish or checkpoint in a place where you can't without block mixing.
IE: You can't make an ALL underground track because there are no "Cave" Start/Finish blocks.
There are no Start/Finish cliffside blocks.
There are also no Multilap concrete blocks.
There is a "Dirt" Checkpoint, but no Start/Finish.

So... If there was only one instance of each - Start, Finish, Multilap and Checkpoint - in the editor but they were not actual blocks but objects that could snap to Most any block this would both save space in the editor and simplify and expand the ability to place Start/Finish/Checkpoints.
With a feature like this you could put a start on a downhill slope, a checkpoint on a curve and a finish on a jump.

Why on earth didn't they do this? It would probably fix so many problems and allow people to create so much better starts on their tracks! I really hope Nadeo will give this a try.

Oh yea, I kind of forgot about that topic. It hasn't really been active for a while. The idea for freeplaced checkpoints and start/finish is one I thought about years ago editing in TMUF. I thought posting it in "Suggestion" might get some interest but...
