[B.0]Bugs in Hot Seat Mode

Hi,

some bugs I noticed in Hot Seat since the download of MP 2.0:

1) Sometimes the car skin of the second driver disappears. The car is blank white. On his second run, the skin is back. Bug is not so easy to reproduce. Perhaps only the first time when I start the game. Or only for "guest players" (with no own account, only competing in Hot Seat Mode).

2) Every time a driver passes the finish line, his time disappears. So the "???" behind his name in the upper left corner of the screen is not replaced by his time. And so the game doesn't know, who has the worst time and is the next player on the Hot Seat. The players toggle regardless their time. Interestingly, the Checkpoint times are shown, including the + or - to the CP-time of the other driver as it should be, only the finishing time is lost.

3) If I change the keyboard settings they are not applied to Hot Seat Guest Players. And (something that didn't work already before MP 2.0) guest players can't change the skin of their car. The game chooses randomly a skin for them.
I understand, that Nadeo restricts the possibilities for players who don't have an account, only playing Hot Seat at a friend's computer, but why not at least let them select their keys for breaking, respawn, restart and perhaps the car skin like in previous TM games (or at least take the keyboard settings of the "account player" for them too)? Would be nice, and: The guest players would have more fun playing and so may decide to buy the full game, isn't it? ;)

4) Btw, something from before MP 2.0 (should I open a new topic?) concerning Hot Seat, too: In the launcher settings I choose "Don't show nearby cars" (I don't know the exact english labelling of this entry since I have the german version; there it's: "Nahe Wagen ausblenden"). This works fine in every mode except Hot Seat. This bug makes driving in the first seconds after start a little bit confusing (which is my car?). ;)

Yes, after MP 2.0 hotseat and splitscreen mode are unplayable...

Hope they fix it soon.

At the moment we can only play them in MP 1.0

same probs on my and other installations (friends) seen too. Really anoying. :roflol:

Hi

I've the same problems in HotSeat-Mode as posted by YonCan, so it's unplayable. Would be great if there is a fix for this soon.

The Splitscreen-Mode works but there is a problem with the screen which appears after someone won three races (where it's written who won the track). If Player A wins the first track and Player 2 the second track, the two lines ("Player xy won the race") appear both after the second track so that they cover each other. It's no functional problem (Splitscreen Mode works), but it would look better without the bug. ;)

Last of all it would be very great if guest players could change their car skin. Sometimes, in HotSeat Mode, two players get randomly the same car. It's very confusing directly after start if there are two same-colored cars and you don't know which one is yours.

Hey, yesterday I tried the Hot Seat Mode again: Most problems are solved! The times are registered, Players change correctly and the weired changing of the control scheme for guest players seems to be solved. Thanks Nadeo! :clap:

There are only some minor bugs left:

1) The dark grey field where the best time of the player is displayed is too small. Some digits don't fit into the field.

2) Guest players car is sometimes white (without skin) on the first run.

3) If the time difference is 0.00, the active player changes. In TMNF/TMUF you have to drive a better time to leave the Hot Seat. In case of 0.00, you stay on the chair. - Perhaps, the program counts some 1/1000 seconds that aren't displayed, and my time actually was better than that one of the leading player. Then the behaviour is okay.

4) I don't know if that's on purpose: The popup window indicating a player change has no focus on the OK-button. So a simple Enter press or click on the controller button doesn't work. You have to move the focus first (by mouse, by arrow keys, by stick). Perhaps it's on purpose to prevent the player on the Hot Seat to accidentally start the timer for the next player who has to take the steering wheel.

Oh, btw Nadeo, why don't you bring a change log with your updates? Okay, there are 2 or 3 entries during the installing process, then "..." to show there's more. That's all. But if you would give a more complete list of the changes and bug fixes, you could show to all disbelievers, that you are indeed working hard and that there's progress. I noticed the bug fixes on Hot Seat only by chance for example. Anyway, thanks for the fixes :D :thumbsup:

Oh, one point I forgot:

The option "Opponents - Hide Too Close" is not yet working in Hot Seat. Please help us to find our car in the clutter after the start :mrgreen:
