Hey shootmania folks,
I've made a logo for torrent's titlepack called ''Loadout''. What is your opinion? Criticism is welcome!
First logo try
Here are a few approaches how to help me:
- The font
- Text colour
- Text thickness
- background (stone texture)
- lights
For example: Do you like the text colour? Would you advice me to make the text thicker? Too many lights?
Any criticism is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Soprah

Re: Loadout logo preview - Your opinion?
Yes, it`s like haenry asked:
If you want to design a logo, the most important things are the purpose and what it should represent.
The logo itself looks nice, but is it intended to look some kind of mysterious?
Does it represent the main clorors of the titlepack?
Thinks like this, it is important to know the background.

Re: Loadout logo preview - Your opinion?
I don't know Loadout also. And when I look at the logo, then I have still no idea.
I reduced the size of the logo to 256x144 px and then you can't see much from the title text. The background is too dominant. Still using gaussian blur or something on the background.
I've seen in the title shop that it's a multi-mode title. So why not create a logo using three or four icons or tiles representing each one of the modes. Then you can try to place the title in three parts (Lo / ad / out) using very bold letters on each tile (making one part italic).

Re: Loadout logo preview - Your opinion?
Thanks for all the helpful replies!
I've read all the answers but I forgot to answer, sorry for that.
I've noticed your advices and in the next days (if the logo looks convincing for me) a next logo-try will be shown in this thread here.
Thanks again!

Soprah

general tip: it's a logo, not a wallpaper, don't overuse textures and special effects, make it simple and standing out

Alright, thanks for the useful feedback as well Omnixor ^.^
@To all:
Would you rather prefer a polished, clean 2D logo with less detail or a complex but still clean 3D logo? Example of the maxon studio, developers of the software called ''Cinema 4D'' which I used to create the first logo above.
I know it's up to the client and I need to ask him. But he asked me to create a forum thread, so I guess he cares about the community's opinion too.
Don't hesitate with feedback or suggestions, anything is welcome and I really appreciate it!
