[B3.1] Number of Planets sometimes not correct

There is a bug that the number of Planets, one currently own, displayed in the top bar, is not always correct.

In my case, Maniaplanet displays 600 Planets, instead of the around 35.000 Planets which I own. I do not know when it happens, it seems to be quite randomly. But I noticed it for several times now, that the Planets decreased to 600.

And as random as the Planets decrease to 600, they jump back to the correct 35k.

I can confirm the bug. The bug seems to appear when I`m leaving a title or download an update. The amount of planets displayed is 600.

I have also seen it shortly before exiting ManiaPlanet once.

It happens to me always on editor... If i bring up my mouse i see sometimes 600... I click on the maniahome button and it gets the correct value again

Okay, I observed this problem a little bit more, and want to provide what I found out.

The current number of Planets is included in all responses from the MasterServer. So for example, if you call "ManiaHome", the game asks the MasterServer for the actual URL of the Manialink, and in the response there is the Planets number. (The reason why it get corrected when you called the Manialink, Rots )

Once in a while, there is a request "LiveTick" to the MasterServer, and in that response, the number of Planets is not included, yet there are the numbers 60, 300, 600 and 900 -- Which (I assume) get mis-interpreted as Planets. (I had 300 and 600 so far).

Each 10 minutes(?), a "ReceiveMessages" is requested, and the response includes the correct number of Planets -- So the number in the top bar gets corrected within the next 10 minutes.


"ReceiveMessage" seems to be the request to check for new private messages. I don't know what "LiveTick" is for, but that request seems to have the faulty response.

EDIT: "LiveTick" seems to be requested every 15 minutes.
