I just finish my video and i use a lot of mods... I made them all (except a little part from my friend Le Concombre). I use texture from CGtextures and there are no copyright problems.

In french (easier for me)
Merci de reconsidérer cette position qui est incompréhensible. A aucun moment il n'a été mentionné que l'on ne pouvait pas utiliser de mods ! De même, j'utilise des objets de mon cru et de Diving Duck (ce qui dans les 2 cas ne pose aucun pb de copyright car nous sommes les auteurs).
Après 3 semaines de boulot acharné je suis totalement découragé par ce post
J'espère sincèrement que cette position concernant les mods n'est que provisoire.

Actually it's because of a copyright question, even if you can use the texture for a personal/non-commercial use, it's possible that you/we can't use them for this contest because it can be assimilated to a commercial (and some copyleft or free use material can require a licence for a commercial use).

Moreover it can may require the written authorization of the author of the texture/music/etc... to be used on a "commercial" material.

That's why we can't check for all videos if all authorizations have been given or if it can be used for commercial uses (and as you may know, the copyright questions are pretty tricky in France).

There are only four rules:

• You must use the ManiaPlanet music (see below, no limititation to number of tracks, remixes allowed)
• You can only submit one video (partication is only allowed for one category)
• You can not use copyrighted material
• Format of the final video: 720p or 1080p, H264, .mp4, Stereo sound

I respect this rules and i accept to be responsable if there is any consequence.

You change the rule just 2 days before the end of the challenge I can't accept that. It is not professional at all...
If I know that, i wouldn't have done this video but another one. I would use other cars and musics.
Making a video take a lot of time and you don't respect the videomakers work ! The Maniaplanet is huge, but some people are small. Everybody can make a mistake but then you should find a solution.

Good luck to the videomakers for this contest.

One quick question about skins/cars.
You say canyon skins and other cars are allowed as long as they contain no trademarks.
So just to make sure, don't want to be disqualified by that, am I allowed to use a modified canyon car? It is a police car based on the canyon skin but has bumpers and and police lights on top.
I read the answers before, but I just want to make sure to not get disqualified because I am putting a lot of work into this.

For this official contest i made a unofficial trailer for mod and objects in the Maniaplanet. I think it is unfair but i'm disqualified So now it is just a drive in the imagination possibilities with a awesome tool : the Maniaplanet.

You can if it's not based on a real police car.

@Cerovan : I can't understand why custom skins are allowed and not mods. A skin can integrate a image or a texture with copyright.
