My friend cant log in after registering his key

I invited my friend through the invite players feature in the maniaplanet client, however after he activated his key he still gets the message that he has to activate his key in order to play. Whenever he tries to re-enter the same key, it tells him the key has already been used. Since i paid 5k maniapoints to invite him i tried sending him one of the other guest passes (the one which allows him a mazimum of 3 games per day), but then the client tells him activating that key is useless, since i assume it implies that the original key has been activated properly.

What should my friend do, just wait for a while and see if it fixes itself?

This is strange. Did your friend tried to restart the game, or the computer?
Since he now seems to have a ManiaPlanet account, can he login to the player page (http://player.maniaplanet.com) and see which games he is now allowed to play there?

Are you both using the same ManiaPlanet version (either both the regular Gamesplanet download or both the Steam version)?
