Been noticing a few changes occurring and would like some others thoughts on them (just curiosity) but really I for one (including friends of mine) think its a terrible idea. Someone says something and few seconds later while your reading it and it vanishes. Your busy racing and you wanna read what someone said and it vanishes before you ever get the chance to after sitting a new/better time.

Of course we can press "C" key and have all messages appear at once but why not just limit it down to just three lines instead of having them vanish or need to sit there and look for the message in with the other messages? I was just now racing with my friends and didn't get to finish reading what they said so i try the full conversation window by pressing "C" key but get confused and loose where they said it and before i knew it i had done lost it (already happened to me 3 times)

I'm not doing any bragging on but another one of my friends just read what messages he sees on the screen but since now it comes and then quickly goes away, I seriously think he will be missing out on a lot of messages from here on out. It's too confusing and just end up loosing what you tried reading before it got vanished.

I dont like Nadeo's /Ubisofts update neither. Hiding the chatlines after a few seconds forces you to press 'c ' to get the conversation back, ALL the time. There is no way anymore to take a quick glance to what is last said.....
When you have found the time to do so., you now need to press the c button all the time. That is not social. The game is loosing more and more of its charm by now, where i bought the game, exactly for its possibilities.

Perhaps, Nadeo/Ubi are suiting dedicated servers better this way, but there are also plenty of non-dedicated servers, like mine, where people just play for fun, have a drink, and even have a fun chat..Removing this stuff from the game , narrows it down to a go-go-go game, where the ONLY goal is to 'play' (and not to socialize), reason for me to give up on this game. I wont even bother for Valley, this way, with this narrow minded vision....The latest updates of today even destroyed the possibility to combine replays, and watch them all together, since the game will crash on you when you save combined replays to a clip....

Like this, TM is not my cup of tea anymore, but i understand Nadeo aims for the 12 years old 'go-go-go' community.

That's a strange move from Nadeo, i didnt see in the wishlist many people complaining about that chat...
Anyway, isn't the best solution is just to add a parameter serverside to set the time WE want the chat disapear ?

I thought this feature was nice when playing ShootMania.
However, in my opinion it makes much less sense for TrackMania (and TrackMania players weren't even requesting this in the first place afaik) and also during a non-competitive games on ShootMania where you just come to chill with your friends and have a fun game while talking about stuff. So it'd be nice if an option to turn this feature on and off in the menus while also being able to specify the time before the chat disappears would be introduced soon with the chat being displayed all the time by default
