This is the thread reserved for the discussion about new content shown in Stadium: Screenshot/Video/Article Collection

I think the only--and this is a VERY minor gripe, but the only thing I don't like, is they didn't update the carmodel. I would think they'd at least, I dunno--tweak the wheels or something. Maybe it's just cuz I don't get a good view of them in the trailers, ofc, but I never did like the original wheels, and they always looked kinda low-res to me. *shrugs* Either way, this is cool.

I checked the trailer and also some old gameplay videos but in FULL HD

the wheels in Trackmania 2 Stadium seem to be the same, but in more high resolution textures, so it looks a little bit better and sharper

overall the cars look kinda the same but when you look closer you will see the higher resolution textures

I think it's a little hard to see the full extent of the textures in any of the trailers because motion blur often times obscures the details, at least when trying to look at single frames.

They should update the driver model too, his hands are so low-poly

Soooo, Canyon is the next version of Desert and Valley is the next version of Ralley. So the third envi is the next version of Snow? I dunno, it all seems a little too familiar.

Canyon has competely nothing to do with Desert. Desert isn't a "drift-environment" and the graphics and blocks are also totally different.

But indeed you can compare Valley and Rally, they both seem to have the same handling on dirt parts, but different handling on highways.

The third environment for Trackmania 2 will be Stadium. And Stadium is really the next version of Nations, because as Nadeo says on their site "handling stays the same, features and graphics improved"

Except that Desert has canyons and Canyon has deserts, both cars tilt on two wheels, and both environments are extremely well suited for playing with keyboard. But yeah, otherwise they're nothing alike.

They are of course different in more ways than they're similar. ;)

I do understand zarexz point though. I think some people would eventually enjoy seeing an environment that is entirely new, without being even remotely connected to the look or feel of past environments. Then again, it's incredible what you can do with skins and texture mods. :)

For now I'm quite satisfied that Stadium and Valley are coming. I think they'll be very solid environments and immensely help add diversity to TM2.

Well, due the fact we are used to 7 environments we are always campare them to new envi's :P
So, there's always something you can find that looks like one of the 7 envi's ^^
Really tough to make something new, but I think they are doing a greta job :)

+1 Duck. I think they're doing a great job too. :)

Why so mad zaraxz?

I mean, Stadium is the 3rd environment of TM2. We've known that for a little over a week now. It's pretty hard to avoid.

It doesn't mean it's the last environment. It just means it's the 3rd one we're getting. You could look at it however you like... see it as a bonus one or whatever, but it doesn't change the fact that it's the 3rd TM2 environment we're getting.

...or is it? Stadium was announced after Valley, but that doesn't necessarily mean it comes after Valley (making it the 3rd). It could come before. Stadium could be the 2nd environment and Valley could be the 3rd. Or they could come simultaneously and then it wouldn't really matter.

Really, we don't know anything. :roflol: I guess I'll bow out of the endless speculation and wait for some more concrete information to be released.
