Don't worry, that Valley release will come when it's done :)

a valley has loads of water and trees
It looks like you did not pay too much attention to geography and geology classes  ;)

A canyon is originary a more or less narrow trench, created by water erosion, when the ground was elevated due to geological events. The water tried to stay at ground level and forced itself a way through the landscape.

A canyon is not necessarily dryed out completely. Again, look at the Grand Canyon, the Colorado river has created it and is still going through. Btw. there is a nice IMAX 3D movie about it.
Certainly it looks more like rocks, but there are trees definitely at the rims, and at water level, where the water and the wind piled up some earth and seeds could grow.

A valley is not necessarily less deeper than a canyon, since a valley is by definition the landscape part between two mountains, or between the ridges of a mountain.
Valleys can also be very soft, between hills in Scottland, but also very rough between the mountains of the Alps, Rockies or Himalaya.
In the high mountains the valleys also don't have trees (beyond level of vegetation), and also not every valley must have a river. ;)

If you still don't beleive, please search for pictures of the Grand Canyon in USA, of the Black Forest in South Germany, of the Verdon Canyon in France.
You will get enough examples for both arid and green canyons and valleys :)

Btw in the trailer 1:08 - 1:09, notice the cars front weels whilst it is drifting, if it is not just random, or animation, I belive it will be a nice drifting car :D

hehe okay okay you guys got me there on the whole canyon vs water, it's just that nadeo's adding some weird stuff to environments lately.

how about we create an environment in a stadium so imaginary people can sit on the benches and watch the race?

Yeah I think we got your point. Still I don't think it is really that weird, although it might look like a test drive for the trees, or some distraction from Valley

My dream is to have a TrackMania version, call it TrackMania³ or TrackMania Complete (not to say United ;) ), where all blocks of all environments/titles and also all landscape types are available on the same map, of size 128x128 or even 256x256.

I Love That Idea!
Don't care so much what the name would be but it was kind of my hope (even before it's birth) that with TM² the blocks could be used in all future environment... Maybe even to the extent that there might just be one environment and instead of new environments, new addon packs with: [Car and physics - Blocks pack - landscape/backdrop].
Point being that the ability to use any block in any env would be cool. Yes, someone could import them but why not do it in an official capacity?
