Ok, I know that it is not ready yet, I just want to know what the plan is :
Will we be able to make mix-enviroment servers between all 3 enviroments like in TMU ?
I was thinking that yes, of course. But some people said no, and now I am curious.
Personaly, I think that if we can not make mix servers, canyon and valley will be dead before valley is even released, and all the nations kiddies will move to nations 2.

Re: Valley / Stadium at release, servers ?
I'm sure the dev team is extremely busy right now with this Beta2 update and getting all the kinks worked out. So I doubt you will get an official answer any time soon. However, this topic has been discussed before back in August in the Questions and Answers forum.
On August 30, 2012, before we even knew about Stadium coming to TM2, I asked the question:
I guess what I take away from Hylis' post is that they're aware of the situation and the importance of multi-environment servers for a number of players. That's enough for me to know for now.

Hylis replied on August 31, 2012:eyebo wrote:After the second TM2 or SM environment is released... will it be possible to play multiple environments/titles of the same game (genre) in a single server? (much like United)
I understand that it wouldn't currently make sense with the way the multiplayer ladders are set up, but in the future could there be like a "merged" title pack or something... to enable you to play all environments (that you own) of a given game in the same title pack?
Much of the fun in United in multiplayer was because you were gradually introduced to environments that you didn't really like at first. You would play on a server where all environments were played, and sometimes you would find yourself gradually getting used to an environment that you didn't necessarily like at first, like Coast or Rally... whereas you might otherwise not have played those environments much if you had to choose only one environment per server.
It also gives a lot of variety to the gameplay to have the option for all environments on the same server.
I hope that in the future Canyon and Valley (or Storm and Cryo) will somehow be able to be played on the same servers. That is probably the thing I'm most concerned about as I look towards where ManiaPlanet is going.
If you could clarify or give some hints at what might be possible in the future, it would be greatly appreciated.
Well maybe it was a little early to ask it in August. As we get closer to the release of Valley and Stadium, a lot of people will be wondering how this will be handles though.Hylis wrote:Eyebo
I don't know what we will do on this part. Maybe will a server list more than a title list on the same server, maybe titles based on multiple titles, I don't know. I think it is early a little for that question even if it is a common one.

Re: Valley / Stadium at release, servers ?
I agree with you, but a mix server for me needs to have a maximun limit of 2 environments, because the people needs to buy all the games to play in the server, this limit is necessary.Smigles wrote:Ok, I know that it is not ready yet, I just want to know what the plan is :

Oh and I don't want 70k, 80K, 90K and 100K servers mixing environments, if NADEO make mix servers.
Re: Valley / Stadium at release, servers ?
Well, the "problem" is that TMF has only one Ladder, in Maniaplanet you have for everything a Ladder. Maybe someone create a title (or nadeo itself) with "mix environments" and you can drive on this title the Ladderpoints, but who knows^^LBF wrote:Oh and I don't want 70k, 80K, 90K and 100K servers mixing environments, if NADEO make mix servers.

No limits.
All the TMU players I meet that got bored about TM2 got mainly bored because it's only one car. I know that TMU players are not so many as TMN players, but still. It's a entire fanbase that you will lose without the possibility to mix envis on servers.
I want having all 3 enviroments to be the standart, and the game designed around the idea that you play all enviroments.
if Nadeo does not do that, TM2 will become Stadium 2 and the other enviroments will die.

And I dont mean with silly tricky like setting up multible servers ( !!!! ) and redirecting players in the background at map change ( !!!!!!!!! WTF !!!!! )
Who came up with this shit ? We have multi enviroment servers working since TMO, for more than 10 years, and now you give us this nonsence ? I have not talked to many server hosts, but for those I talked to this is the final bullet. We are used to certain standarts with your products, and so far tm2 has not been able to live up to most of them.
I would love to have a official answer by a developer on how you could fuck up this bad and how long it will take to fix it. Not realy expecting a answer to part 1, but could you please tell us how long we will have to wait to get a hostable version ?
You probably dont even remember our names, but as long as this is going on, Mistral and his crew are not going to work on any new servers or write on scripts or anything. We had a very active 50+ people clan once, and by now they ALL are sick of it and stopped playing. Some even play Minecraft ! Imagine that ! Please stop this madnes !

Firstly: I don't think they take light of language. Slightly rude, if you ask me.
Secondly: This is also the first product with more than one GAME in itself. It's not incredibly easy to switch from TM to SM. You'd need to quit one game and load another just to play on the server.
Thirdly: If it doesn't meet your standards, why complain about it? Or even better, find where they might be trying to IMPROVE on these standards. TMO, TMU, whatever you were playing before, has the standards you were expecting, so go back to it if it displeases you so much.
Fourthly: On the matter of language, it's not likely a dev might respond to you, or respond too nicely, if you won't talk to them like you'd like them to talk to you.
Fifthly: What's wrong with Minecraft?

That's what seems to be implied, since there's only one Trackmania game actually out right now.zarexz wrote: Who said anything about switching to SM?

I guess that's what you make of it. It's in the trackmania 2 section of the forum and the only games I can read Smigles is writing about are TMO, and TM2.
