dedimania plugin dont work properly. somehow the whole server was stucked for hours, now empty and even no FZ server anymore, which is very strange.


it started in early morning:

both of this just spamming the logs, till there was no more response from manialive. which takes several hours without crashing.

i will diable this crapy plugin now till.

Yup, that's exactly the same problem i'm having on all my 7 freezone servers all the time, since over 2 months now.
I restart my servers every day to prevent the crash that definately follows, but it doesn't always help and certainly is no comfortable solution.

It will show in xml format how it looks when sending data to dedimania and back.

Hopefully it will work. Otherwise look in the logs for Dedimania_log_XmlRpc.txt and open it up and see where the fault comes from.

It looks like the problem mentioned here by Xymph is still there. My server was blocked from Dedimania due to submitting to many bogus records. The dedimania plugin have send the same Dedimania record time over and over again for different tracks, and the plugin did this many times (thanks Xymph for your info ).
For now, I have disabled the plugin, but it would be nice to use Dedimania again in the (near) future on my freezone server.
I use the latest standard plugin version, with the latest ManiaLive version.

I see one similarity with the previous block from the server Xymph mentioned in his post (viewtopic.php?p=10448#p10526), I also added some tracks to the server, but with ServerMania instead of TMWeb. Maybe there is some problem with the add and removal from tracks.

Yesterday, server login ffsprincesse using Dedimania plugin 'ManiaLive-189' submitted bogus records on a dozen tracks. Bogus meaning: with the wrong number of checkpoints, having impossible values for the pertaining tracks.

Not all submissions from this server yesterday were wrong, and none on the preceding days, but it's still very annoying to have to clean this up in the Dedimania database.

I can understand the kinks need to be worked out of this plugin, but that needs to happen fast. If this problem happens again, that server will be blocked. If it happens again on another server, the plugin version will be blocked.

Yesterday and today, this happened again on server logins tmhu_kezdo (running r223) and battlefun04 (r239). Both submitted dozens of bogus entries, often identical across multiple tracks, to the master server, and it was rather time-consuming (despite some ad-hoc scripting) and very annoying to clean up this mess.

Both logins were banned, and I'm more and more tempted to block all ManiaLive versions from Dedimania. Not because it happens so often (the previous case was in May), but when it does the pollution of the master database is typically very large. And secondly because, after Flo's initial reply way back in February, it doesn't seem to get any further attention.

For now, I strongly recommend everyone running ManiaLive to disable its Dedimania plugin, and if you're also running XAseco or some other controller, to rely on that one's Dedi plugin.
