- It isn't possible to place a cliff road on an edge of a hill (see the first image). It creates the hill next to it. If you remove the hill, it removes the whole block. The same applies to small hills. However, if the hill is over water, it is possible to place it (see the second image).
- If a block like a tunnel entrance or a cliff road approaches a hill, it doesn't auto-correct its orientation like it does in Valley or Stadium.

1. This is not a bug: these are different kinds of cliffs, with not the same height. Some blocks have multiple visual variants to enable placing them on different types of terrain, but not these ones. So your post is not really a bug report but rather a suggestion of variants to add to these blocks.
2. You're right the auto-rotation feature is not activated for those old blocks, thanks for the suggestion.
