Most of the time when i make a flat block, be it a curve or whatever, i always copy/paste and then invert the texture under it, even if its not seen on the map.
I do this because previously i have suspected that clipping a lot of flat blocks into one another that doesnt have a texture on the other side, causes fps drops.
I dont do this for cubes or blocks with depth that you can close of but i do this on flat dirt roads that i clip into terrain and whatnot.
Is this really necessary or can i just go ahead and delete 50% of all polygons on most of my items?.

Hi Doc,
The only issue having no face on the other side is a lightmap issue : you may have artifacts (lit texels on places that shouldnt be lit) on the edges of your lonely face and depending on the situation, these can be more or less visible
