Terrible Hitching When Trying to Play the Game

I just bought Trackmania 2 a few days ago and installed it. Immediately upon getting into the actual game, I started experiencing severe bouts of hitching (every few seconds the game freezes up for several seconds). I have tried reinstalling the game and changing graphics settings without any luck.

My computer is certainly beefy enough to run this game, even at high settings, and all of my important drivers are fully up to date. I am unable to think of any other reason why Trackmania 2 would be hitching up like this. Is there something I'm missing?

Can you give the exact specifications of your computer? CPU, GPU, Ram, OS...

CPU: Intel i5 660 (3.33 Ghz)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5750 2 GB
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

Everything is up to date and this hitching only occurs when playing Trackmania 2.

Try with the new drivers of ATI, they are available since yesterday.

The newest version of the ATI drivers I see is version 12.2, which I already have installed. There has been no change.

Any other suggestions? Nothing I've tried has worked.
