Anyone have any idea why just pressing up (accelerating) can yield a different faster speed but only very rarely and out of your control? I don't see how that should be possible.

Matching my official ghost should always be possible on the 1st half of this track but really isn't.

Appears to be caused by the key bindings. Having the player controls as the only bound controls to specific keys fixes the problem (or a specific binding perhaps).

Often when I start an official race I hold the up button, probably like most people, and the car does not move after the race starts.

Pressing the up button repeatedly and then holding before green is a workaround.

Still that assumes one remembers something that is about 35-50% of the time.
