Well I sent an email to support and got a reply saying my CD key is fine. I gave the game another try today and lo and behold, it actually logged in! So it seems to be working now. No idea what fixed it.

Interesting that you got a reply - when did you email them? I sent an email 4 days ago and have not received a reply yet. Guess I should try again.

Would have been good if I was notified of this "protection" a week ago.

I still have no resolution for this error. I can't activate the game. Is there any information on a workaround or fix?

Also checked my hosts file, there's nothing in there. This is very frustrating. When I saw that the game wasn't released on Steam I was hesitant to purchase it, but went ahead anyway. Now I wish I hadn't. How should I go about seeking a refund if this problem cannot be resolved? My CD key hasn't eve...
