I'm encountering the same problems. Game appears to continue to run [i.e. I can accelerate, crash, etc; it's all audible, but I can't see it]. This happens every 3-4 maps for me. The only solution is a force-quit. I'll also note that every time I've done this, my ranking has gone down by ~900-1100, ...
