2.3.4....increase the percentage of complex maps : , 3d mazes, harder to learn, harder to understand.
Now mazes are limited to tunnels, that mean that when you enter a tunnel, you know that inside it can be totally messy.
Flying platforms outside is a bit uncomfortable, because the map can be anything, it is a lot harder to make a good fluent map with those free blocks. It already happens with the castle center blocs, maps made only with those are already very hard to understand, and often ugly.
So, we decided to hold those a little, let the new shootmania players discover the game with more easy to understand maps and concepts. See what they're doing without the magic of freeride.
If we released the ultimate crazy power of the flying platform blocs from day one, crazy trackmania map makers would have made crazy maps, frightening players not used to that.
We need to start slowly, also understand how players play, what they need, etc... those blocks would have made it harder to read for us aswell.
And honestly, without those, we already have some incredibly complex maps (royal maps especially)
I agree it's is a powerfull tool (but I personnaly hate nogravity blocks, it breaks the immersion).
I can't tell you they'll be back or not it's not up to me, just wanted to share some thoughts on the subject
