Best Time after Laps

Dear all,

i don't get a server, but i am playing on a server and the server admin didn't know how to proceed. The Situation is following. The Maps which are played have 2 Laps. So after you finished the 2nd time the Round is over.

But the Dedimania or Local Times will be taken after a round. So when a Round is finished after est. 29 seconds the best time is taken with 29 seconds, but which setting the admin have to choose when the best time should be taken only when 2 rounds are finished, so in my example best time should be about 58 secs.

Instead of "TimeAttack.Script.txt" he should use "Rounds.Script.txt".

undef is right : in the case of Dedimania only 2 kinds of records are stored, Time Attack and Rounds.
So in the case of multilap maps, you can play them in TA-like modes (ie whith best lap considered, case of TA and Laps modes) and Rounds like modes (ie with full map time, case of Rounds, Cup and Team mode and only in "native" number of laps of the map, so RoundForcedLaps at 0).


Of course, as you host the records databse yourself yourself, a locale database record manager can eventually [be modified to] store other modes (like a whole race in Laps mode, or a Rounds, Cup and Team mode using a RoundForcedLaps value with a specific value).

Note : Dedimania won't store such specific modes because with the 2 supported modes there are already 17 898 024 stored records (tmf + tm2 ; 13 905 296 for stadium + stadium2 !), and if *you* are interested by 2 laps, some other one will be by 3, 5, 8, 15 or 30 laps, and each value would need one more bunch of records for each played map...

new info: the server is using mania control 0.226 - may this be the problem, or doesn't it matter and will work also to using rounds.script.txt?

I have no clue how ManiaControl handle it, but it (should) does not matter which Controller is used. Rounds.Script.txt is a dedicated server ModeScript.

and whitin the roundscript.txt did we have to adjust some settings that best time will be taken after two laps instead of one lap?

No, but you can force the min. laps the players have to drive before they can finish (in case a multilap map has only one lap).
