Can't execute RunSrv on Devian7 server

Post by DogeCena » 22 May 2018, 20:11

Hi

I followed the instruction to open a dedicated server, all of this is fine.
I created the file(RunSrv) which contains

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
   ./ManiaPlanetServer /game_settings=MatchSettings/maplist1.txt /dedicated_cfg=dedicated_cfg.txt /title=TMStadium
Unfortunately, i can't execute the file (I'm using WinSCP)

Code: Select all

Command '"./RunSrv..sh"'
failed with return code 126 and error message
-bash: lign7: ./RunSrv..sh: Permission not granted.
(I'm not allowed to post url, so i put 2 dots in runsrv cause it's recognized as a link)
It tells me that i'm not allowed to execute it, even if i'm connected with root (Even using Putty).

Does anyone know a solution ? :?

you need the correct file-permissions (execute)!

Never run the server as root. EVER.

But yes, try "chmod +x RunSrv.sh" before executing it.

Debian 7 is too old to run ManiaPlanetServer too, more precisely, the version of glibc (libc6) is too old. You'll get something like :

Code: Select all

/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found
I'd advise you to upgrade the dist to Debian 8 (Jessie).
