Hi,
I'm looking for a bit of help/assistance running a non-dedicated TM-Canyon server. I'm sat behind a firewall (happens to be configured for strict NAT) so I've configured the following:
On the fire wall:
Ports 2350 (the server port) and 3450 (the peer to peer port) are both configured to forward TCP and UDP packets to my PC (which is using a fixed IP address).
Within the game configuration:
The server port is set to: 2350
The P2P server port is set to: 3450
Client port: 0
Force server address: <my external IP (WAN) address> : 2350
I can start the server OK but anyone attempting to connect to the server via the in-game server browser (it appears in the list OK) gets a "could not communicate with server" error and are unable to join.
I've tried hosting with and without the "Force server address" values set; but have not had any joy.
I don't normally have any issues port forwarding for games but this one's got me stumped somewhat.
Are there any other ports that need to be open? The game should have unrestricted out-bound access to the Internet. Joining other dedicated servers works fine.
(Fwiw: OS - Win 7; Using windows firewall & security essentials).

Probably that you have the PC firewall blocking it !EntropicLqd wrote:I'm looking for a bit of help/assistance running a non-dedicated TM-Canyon server. I'm sat behind a firewall (happens to be configured for strict NAT) so I've configured the following:

You can eventually test if your server can be accessed from external with that tool : http://dedimania.net/deditest/ . It won't recognize a TM² server, but anyway you will see yourself if it is reachable or not without asking for someone else : if it says not reachable then it's not (so it's your redirections and/or firewall and/or wrong ports), if it is reachable but don't recognize the game server then it tells it (at that time you can ask someone else to test).
That should never be used except in very special cases (mostly if you have configured a web proxy so the apparent ip of http/s requests is not the real one)Force server address: <my external IP (WAN) address> : 2350

Re: [TM2-Canyon] No-one can join my non-dedicated server
I cleared out the "force server address" settings and re-booted my router (I was confident it wasn't a firewall issue) and it works now. Don't really understand why I had to re-boot the router as I don't normally.
