Rick, I sent out an E-mail on the 7th. As soon as I learned that we were having issues with our initial server host, bam, the message got sent. I hurried and found another server for the event to be hosted on, hence why the maps weren't released on the 7th (as I specified they would be a week before each phase's start). Maybe I sent it out before you were in the database?
Regarding the semis, giving many competitors only three weeks to plan a way to Cinci is severely pushing the comfort zone. In fact, many of the participants entered are from way beyond the Midwest U.S. Everything is set in stone now; I'm sorry if this puts you two in a bad spot. Dates will not be changed again, because that IS when people get confused. Before, it was a necessary evil because of happenings beyond my control that will not happen again... unless "2012" decides to happen early.

Re: MAJOR US/World Competition- A&G Trackmania² Open [LAN FI
I found some strange or rather contradictory things in the rules:
1. Preliminaries
"The rounds will be played on 10 different tracks which ..."
and
"The top 16 at the end of the seventh map will move onto the semi-final matches."
My Question: How many maps will be played in the preliminaries?
"Each track will be played until a player surpasses 51 in-game points."
and
Prelim Server Settings:
"Point Limit: 41"
My Question: Until when will each track be played?
I've another question, which is not mentioned in the rules:
Is it mandatory to be there on the LAN for the final matches or are exceptions possible?

Prelims will consist of 10 maps, I missed the text and the point limit is correct, 41. Points per round will be default, and the points tables outlined are for tournament scoring after each map is completed. The logic behind using the default points is that you but get greatly rewarded for finishing in the elite each round but are at the mercy of your placing if you do not. Prelims are being used to eliminate part of the field and to seed players for the semi-finals.
I was mid-discussion as I was finalizing these, I apologize for the typos.
Yes, you will have to attend the LAN Final, otherwise we will select an alternate if you qualify and cannot make it. Hope this clears everything up!

It is like it is now, Good Luck to everyone.
But I've another question, I assume the LAN final is in March, If I should get there, what i'll know after the semi finals,
Do I've enough time to get in USA, I heard Europeans need a visum etc as well.

Depending on the country you're coming from you may/may not need to apply for a visa for travel. More information can be found at the US State Dept. website, specifically on these pages: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/temp_1305.html
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/witho ... _1990.html
You'll obviously need a passport as well, if you haven't had one already. There should be enough time to do all of that, but if you're from a country that needs a visa or if you don't meet the eligibity requirements for a visa to be waived I would start looking into that process soon.

I'm coming from Belgium, So i need a visa.
If I understand good, I need a B-1? & I see a wait time of 2 days, is this possible? 'cause it looks very short, no?

I would have you or your manager contact the US State Department or The US Embassy of Belgium just to make sure, Laurens. Two days does seem pretty short.laurens92 wrote:I'm coming from Belgium, So i need a visa.
