[suggestion] Cursor object Coordinates

Post by darmaya »

Hi,
i really need an "object" positioning tool!

This is why:
When i place a MOBJect (a very large one, like a Mountain), i build around a map, i place Start, finish and stuff, and save fine and dandy.

The MOBJect have a GRASS surface, but i want try another object i made, a "Version" but with CONCRETE surface.
So i need to note the loc of the 1st object and susbstitute with the second.

Naturally, i should enter "direct locations coords" in the dialog...
to properly place the variant object :)

Bread for your theets or wishful thinking? :roflol:

Don't we already have something like this?
When in editor go to plugins mode or press P and select CursorCoords plugin.
I think this is what you mean, sorry if it's not.

Yes, from this came the idea came from this useful plugin.
But it currently shows "Block's" coordinates,
"Objects" coordinates should have the centimeter's precision,
as from 0,00 to 2048,00

well i'm not sure what's the difference between your objects and blocks, but you could just calculate the position in centimeters by:
CursorCord * 800 (as one block is 8m x 8m)

if you need the center of the block:
cursorcord * 800 + 400

    @steeffen

While the blocks move in a grid (64x64mt in Canyon, not 8x8 as in Storm, i think)
    the object move discreetly.

The smaller relevant measure should be 1 cm.

    Ty!

      oh, well,
      both in trackmania and Storm
      you can import objects,
like pillars, etc (see maniapark.com / SM /Objects)
They move smootly, in a different way than blocks.
Tkx anyway for interesting in it.
