Nadeo always preferred to have any community creations also kept in the community, not only for time reasons.
This means they also don't care of a database, and this is also why there is ManiaPark, TM Exchange etc.

The download of stuff works fine if it is only small, so you don't have to wait much before entering the next map.
But large things like skins, big signs, mod textures, etc. would really better fit to a title pack.

To extend your idea, it could also be helpful to have a list of objects etc. which are required by the current set of maps on a specific server, then the client would download at the connection to this server, with a cancellable user request.
How about that?

I agree, having it downloadable serverside solves the problem, "download custom objects" (22mgs) :)

Let's see what Nadeo thinks and if they would implement the suggestion, it is a great recommendation.

the serverside thing also has been discussed many times.
It must not necessarily be the server that hosts the game which also offers the downloads of the packs, as this could lead to some effect on the ping performance.
A link to a separate storage could do the job, e.g. using locators.
At the moment locators are only used in game for skins and signs.
If they were made working for server specific packs, post-connection pre-gaming downloads could work with this.

That would be the expectation, and to have it considered would be helpful, seeing that it makes sense,
And to further imply, using locator's would definitively be the way to go, so there be no ping variances.

Yet to continue the mentioned only to subject to the title would throw it off guard, in thought would point
to why pose an issue when there is all reason to provide the same object availability download for any map..

Not suggesting you don't agree with that, yet perhaps for title packs.. custom.. media packs? Is a tool to
build your own Mania-planet pack.. including with a title, or on singularity maps or I might have not known.

Which would raise the concern of compatibility issues or futherless hacks.. so a suggestion that Mania-planet
would have to read an secondary resource, keeping the clutter down the minimal, and provide secure protection
against explicated exploits. IN reference..

Or if you use custom.. well you become vulnerable.

If you fear hacks and security issues, I recommend you to avoid mods, to avoid servers in general, and to play only official or self-made tracks ;)

That would prove to be unnecessary, considering the hype bout hacking etc. I recommend don't take the advice to stress, its the same risk anywhere.. Look, maniaplanet is already using custom scripts, many implications, so test it first, if it works, great, if not, then don't.. yet to remain on topic, having custom objects downloadable, via prior to map load, provides a great resource for further additions to maps.

To further indicate 'what reasoning that is required' that will resolve multipliable resources being available at once, I advise, make a pack.. an secondary resource, one that can be easily opened, changed and repacked.

Way better than the current Maniaplanet filing system.

This would help mods, scripts, or any additional requirements remain per map/title, yet available for all.

Or the possibilities of 5000+ titles per custom map down the road, can lead to be very hazardous.

yeah, possibilities are many, but they also need to be experienced by the community

It´s not collidable (you can drive through)
No Gridsnapping (place it wherever you want)
Free placement (in the air, wherever you want^^)

This is a "common" with own texture (so you can use it in every environment)
