Hey. Here is a guide that could help some map builders.
I'll try to list the hidden blocks/combinations in the map editor, which appear when you combine 2 specific blocks correctly. I'll use X-X-X in order to determine which blocks to use. Maybe I'll add screenshots later if needed.
- Terraforming
Maybe the most obvious one.
You can combine Terraforming 1, 2 and 3 together to create small hills and transitions between terraforming levels. You can also combine Terraforming 3 and 4 : Hills on water.
Combine terraforming 4 and 5 for shallow water/deep water.
- Blocks
2-4-3 : can be combined with 6-7-X and 7-7-X to create a bumper roof for the cave area.
2-5-2 : can be combined with 4-1-1, 4-1-3, 5-1-5, 5-3-X except 5-3-5, 5-4-3, 5-5-1, 5-5-3, 5-6-3

4-4-1 : 2-5-7 : can be combined with 4-1-1, 6-1-1, 8-2-1
3-1-1 and 3-1-6 : can be combined with 4-1-1, 4-1-3

9-3-3, etc : same behaviour as white blocks (9-1-3, etc)
9-4-5 : same behaviour as 2-5-5
10-6 : allows to place HD textures and the terraforming.
-Terraforming + blocks
You can usually place blocks on the edge of the terraforming when using a "straight" variant of the block. ( 4-1-1 or 4-4-1 for example. Some techno blocks will be added in the future for this : 5-1-1 and 5-1-2. )
Please let me know if I forgot something that I'm not aware of.
Have fun building !

Re: Storm Map Editor - Hidden blocks list
Really big thanks for creating such a nice list!
It will definitely help map-editor-beginner. Even 'experts' will discover some new cool possibilities!
I am working on a list, where I suggest new block-combinations e.g. 3-1-1 on 4-1-3 but in every direction.
Anyway, good job and thanks for your effort!

Re: Storm Map Editor - Hidden blocks list
Ty for the list, I might try out some of them, when I find some time.
It looks interesting but you can clearly see that there is no transition from that texture to the normal texture.
Is there a way to get the 'normal' texture for the blocks on the edge or the 'other' texture for any other block?
I haven't noticed it until now, but 3-1-1 gets a new texture when placed at the edge of water.PapyChampy wrote:You can usually place blocks on the edge of the terraforming when using a "straight" variant of the block.
