Hello :D

I have a little question about smart configuration because i've got this error in log

Code: Select all

[BO:OT] Parsing Configuration File config.xml
[19:41] Operating System Linux (LINUX)
[19:41] Killing old instance 27742
kill: 1: No such process

[19:41] Creating PID-File...
[19:41] Failed to read Dedicated Config-File. Make sure to specify it via --dedicatedcfg=XXXX
i set --dedicatedcfg=/UserData/Config/dedicated_cfg.txt
and
--dedicatedcfg=Config/dedicated_cfg.txt
and
--dedicatedcfg=dedicated_cfg.txt

But it doesn't work :/why ?

make sure the cfg file has the proper flags, possible it can't be read by the game.
use absolute path if possible.
and search the forum for dedicated_cfg ;)

Define the full path.

--dedicatedcfg=/home/myuser/SMServer/UserData/Config/dedicated_cfg.txt

So, I think you must give us a little more detailed information about your directory/user/permission structure.

unix/linux style servers need dedicated file applications (e.g. lookup the help for the command chmod).
windows systems have permissions on user groups and users in a slightly different way.

where did you create the config file? probably it has only the rights for your user (or if you are doing everthing as admin, admin rights, and this means it can only be read by application executed with admin rights), and standard services can't access it -> wrong permission ... you should have logfile entry about this. Something like the file does'nt exist or can't be read.

Public user doesn't have access to ftp xD

My dedicated_cfg.txt file has chmod 771, Config folder has chmod 774

if smart uses a service with a different user, then it can't access the files anyway.

Is there a switch to have more verbose output?

We were able to fix this and run smart :) We duplicate dedicated file and
one threw to the root/main folder
