Buddylist: Not accepting my invites & buddylist not loaded

(I couldnt find the right thread for this so I'm posting it here.)
I'm having some issues with the buddylist which I cant prove. I just sens that something is wrong. Let me explain^^

Issue#1:
Before MP3 , when I added a player he/she would accept my invite and after a MP-reboot everything just worked how it should work.

After MP3 (with the new buddylist) it feels like nobody ever gets or accepts my friend-requests. ( haha, yeah they probably just hate me :p )... No, I'm serious. I have like 50 open friend invitations... It's like they never receive my invitations. I have had this feeling for a long time now, so now I always ask ingame : "hey you , did you get my invite?" and the answer is always 'no'.

Of course I also added people succesfully so it's not that this happens all the time.

Issue#2:
My buddylist still only opens when I make the black topbar show.
So I can play for hours & hours without my buddylist enabled until I accidentally put my cursor at the top of my screen & thuss make the black topbar show which activates the buddylist.

I prefere to just launch the game & my buddylist gets loaded immediately. I think that is the intended behaviour because it was like this in MP2.

I have had this error for the last 5days every day 2-3times.
It's usually when I leave my game open & I'm working in Windows. When I return to my game I get prompted with this error and I have to relaunch the game to fix it.

Loads of my friend request dont get accepted or even received!
As a manager of an esports team i can not even add my own teammates! How rediculous is that?

He says he invited me, I invited him... nothing happens.

Its not working properly and Ive reported this several times. No reaction in this thread for 16days.... :/


PS : Im not the only one having this issue. Whenever I ask 'can I add you' they answer : yeah but use skype/steam/... because MP-buddylist is acting strange.

Please do investigate.

I'm crashing a lot & my buddylist isnt working. 0% support whatsoever...

Last 2 weeks I got into a fight with some friends because they claim I never ever answer them. How rude of me!
Well, not rude ! I often dont receive a lot of messages.
Then I checked if they receive my messages and that's not working either.

List of bugs:
- No planets to add buddies ( that's ofc my fault )
- Buddylist not booting up automatically
- I cant add friends
- People cant add me
- If we manage to be friends then we can not even chat properly
- If I'm AFK for a bit & come back to the game then the buddylist wont open anymore until I reboot my game

In this small game it can be nice to have friends to find praccs faster because IRC & other tools for that are simply unused.

A véry véry flawed buddylist! I understand that you're working hard and that holidays were there, but a reply takes 5seconds to write & submit. It would make me ( and others? ) feel much better if we know its getting fixed.

I respect your long-term big updates, but... a hotfix is very welcome , idd.

I've same kind of problems, my friend list is not booting up immediately which is a really strange behaviour.
I also had the feeling my friend request never got accepted, in fact people just dont see them, friend request are lost in a little tab were nobody looks and there's no advertising like "[..] wants to be your friend"

Why not adding a pop-up at game launch like in mp2 ? or let "friend request" have the same behaviour has friends, so it pop-up in the top of the friend tab

Concerning these bugs :

I've another problem with the topbar ! it always shows when i'm playing and stays for quite a long time (and cover's the timer which is really anoying when playing). A simple setting like "topbar only shows up when mouse is directed to the top, and never shows up during the game" would be really great !

PS : Despite these bugs, nadeo did great job with buddy system, it's far better now than during mp2
PS : I know you can set youself as busy or away, but i want to know when someone pm's me (which is not possible while "busy" or afk" i think)

I never had even 1 of those problems, strange.
And the toolbar also disappears everytime. Only not if I forget, that my mousepointer is still up there
Whe I read this forum, I sometimes have the feeling, that I`m the only person where MP works like it should.

In fact, it disappears, but most of the time it appears with no reason and seems to stay longer (but maybe i'm having a wrong feeling about that)

So, guess what? I got a buddy request!


If only I could accept it. Am I really the only one or what? I heard a lot of complaints coming from others too ( they just arent active here on the forums. )

Some sign of life by NADEO would already make me a bit less worried. Having a disfunctional buddylist is really a pain in my ass.
Also, Why can i already see his status? ( online/offline/bussy )


PS : Yes, this happens every single day. Easily my number#1 most hated thing in ManiaPlanet.

I think it is a firewall issue.
We know ManiaPlanet likes P2P connections, and if I look at netstat -nab (requires cmd with admin priviledges) I can see that there are lots of ports used... some for the menu, some for the manialinks, and certainly some for the buddychat.

Hm I saw you accepted it. Seems to work, at least in this direction...
