eXpansion 1.1.0.* for MP4 (09/05/2017) Temporary fixes (Support Drop)

So we dropped support, but we relatively nice guys. Here is a very quick version that simply works for MP4. There might be bugs but it works better then the 1.0.1.2

Now that mp4 is online I think it's a bit more clear why we dropped support. we still have legacy & script code mixed up in eXp, new controllers support just script which makes it easier to maintain. And there are quite a few new controllers

Hope this version works for you guys while looking for an alternative.

How to update
You can simply use auto update, or composer update

you can use the in game command : /admin update

And restart the controller /admin manialive restart

Download & Install (Stable)

If you don't want to use the autoupdate or you have never installed eXpansion before.

Create new folder for 1.0.1
Unzip the file


if you have any copy of your old Configcopy the conf folder to 1.0.1 config
If you have wamp/xamp but not expansion run setup.bat on windows and on linux use php setup.php

Yep eXpansion is ready.

How to Run & Configure
Installing eXpansion is extremely simple and straight forward. If you already installed XASeco or any similar controller you will find it to be even easier as there is only a few lines of config to edit, once that is done you do everything in game.

Just updated the first post with a link and a zip file.

There is a lot of work todo to make exp really nicely fit in MP4, alot of legacy code to remove. We also have quite a lot of Technical debt from wrong choices we have made and from manialive & manialib.

Simple example our widgets updates using data available in the script, this is great for performance but it's not accurate, and we have been criticized about this on many occasion. There is an alternative which would require a complete rewrite of all the widgets.

I can hardly get more then 4/5 hours into this per week and that is when I am motivated, with no one else but reaby and I to code for exp it's hard. And well there is a lot of small bugs in exp requiring quite a lot time. So I think it was a logical choice as multiple players have agreed to work on new controllers, and I can understand them as well.

I updated to the mp4 verison but all widgeats are not placed in the good place, what should i do to make the HUD looks ok for this version ?

Can you provide a screen shot, we changed the positions so it should be ok,

and you should consider switching controllers, exp support is dropped we only published this version to give admins using exp time to decide. 60% at least of the manialinks needs a rewrite.

I fixed them but there a very big problem with scrolling menus, you can`t scroll with the mouse, only if you click on the arrow down, is a bug ?

We know there is a lot of bugs since MP4 with eXp. It's one of the reasons we dropped support. We need to rewrite 60% of expansion to make it clean & make it work.
It was impossible for us alone with our private life to do this during the beta.

The PHP base is ok, even through there is alot of dead code for legacy. But there is a issues with manialinks & maniascript. We were without a doubt the controller that used the most maniascript. And that makes this update to MP very hard for us.

So no you should have been able to drag the scrollbar, but yes it doesn't work. We disabled it because it created errors.

We are working on a new version, will we ever finish it? I can't say.

The update we did was to fix "critical" bugs to give you guys time to find another controller.

We sadly can't support & help you anymore.

Maybe in a year or more or less we might have something new that will need a lot of time to mature to the current level.
