[RULES] Team mode

Hi there,

I'd like to have a precision on the team gamemode.
Imagine the 2 following sets of rule, for a 2v2 match :

First player gets 4points, second player 3, third player 2, and last player 1.

If N players finish the race, first player gets N-1 points, second gets N-2, etc... and last player wins 0 point.

The Rules2 seem to be applied here by uaseco (see https://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/699749Sanstitre.png in the top right). But I think that the rules people normally use (in ESL CPS for example) are the Rules1.

Of course, both rules are identical if everyone finishes the race, BUT, it's not necessarily true if one (or more) player doesn't finish.

For example, imagine the following finish line : first a BLUE player, second and third a RED player, and the second BLUE player doesn't finish.

Points count:
With Rules1, BLUE 4 - 5 RED, point for RED.
With Rules2, BLUE 2 - 1 RED, point for BLUE.

I think of course Rules1 should be applied (this could be open to discussion), but what I think doesn't really matter, as it is indeed what's used for current competition if I'm not mistaking.

If it is indeed changrd, then probably the <settings><modesetup><team><max_points_per_round> from modescript_settings.xml should be changed to <settings><modesetup><team><number_of_players> or <settings><modesetup><team><players_per_team> (but the last one supposes that each team has same number of players -- which is actually often the case but we never know what funny competition can exist with unbalanced team in the future)?

The file "config/modescript_settings.xml" only contains settings which the ModeScript himself supports, so if you want to have changes in the ModeScript, then you have to ask nadeo for it... or just change the ModeScript himself and create an own ModeScript. 8-)

With the <use_alternate_rules> you can change the behavior of the ModeScript (that was the case before MP4 and I hope it's still the case too). Maybe that brings what you want, because the option "use alternate rules" was in the legacy mode also available.

The documentation has unfortunately nothing about the settings of ModeScripts...

Yes, it's pretty unclear what are the rules. But it seems that they changed there.
