A patch is absolutely necessary for PC

Post by Lotrax » 24 Mar 2016, 17:40

This is not a console game. This is a PC game. Some essential stuff is missing and that simply is unacceptable.

Below is a list of the things I think are absolutely essential to be patched asap.
  • Custom bindings for gamepads: this isn't the 80s/90s, this isn't even the 00s. It has always been possible, until now. It is 2016, we shouldn't have to download 3rd party software for your game to be played in a desirable way.
  • No hiding of cars. I tried pressing 'O' but still a thousands cars were lagging over the track and just distracting me from playing properly. Why isn't this even in the game?
  • Player hosted servers. Why can't we create servers ourselves? Not for the moment, but really hosted servers. How will track sharing even work? Only Nadeo tracks?
  • Fix the scoreboard. Honestly, what a mess.
I love TrackMania, don't get me wrong. I've been a dedicated fan and player for years, but this is a console game. It is a betrayal to your PC community (which basically is your whole community). I really enjoy playing TrackMania Turbo. The game feels so good, but these things unacceptable Nadeo. I expected higher of you.

+ Add the well-known "cam1" because many people (like me) played with this camera for years and years

"How will track sharing even work? Only Nadeo tracks?"
When you create an online challenge, you can put customs tracks, then, you can use these tracks to be played online and to share them to others.
C'est Grandiose!

That is exactly what has been said over and over again. TMT is a console game and MP is for the community. And that means including dedicated servers etc
Nowhere has been written its the follow-up of Maniaplanet.

I do however worry people think otherwise. The first question i heard when i came online was: i cant see the dedimania recs, where are they. So i think it should be shouted out by NADEO what the difference is between both platforms. To avoid confusion but also to the community what is possible and what not!

It's not a follow up, just a newer game with all the content ever released on maniaplanet (except shootmania) and more, more active players, and a better price*.

It's not a follow up, it's a replacement !

edit: *better price at launch, I see the older games are now heavily discounted on steam as part of the ubisoft promotion.

Its not a replacement, because not all the content is copied into TMT.
Because all the things that can be modified and organised, like servercontrollers, dedimania, fully dedicated servers, own cars, own skins, embedded objects, etc. etc. are all not in TMT, but in MP

If it was a replacement, why would there be a MP 4.0 coming? And yes, what would be the use of a maniaplanet solo for shootmania. Just think of TMT as a spin-off just for consoles, where the console-versions are also available for pc's.

I really would be happy if NADEO would clarify this, because a lot of people dont understand the difference now between TMT and MP. They just expect indeed a follow-up or a replacement, and are loudly screaming for a lot of functions only MP has to offer and not TMT.

So to avoid dissapointment imo it is ABSOLUTELY nescessary for NADEO
to explain the difference between TMT and MP!

But TMT was released for PC, so on PC it must be a PC-Game. It is a PC-Game for me, but i don't know why everybody says "It's for console"

I may have been released PC but it doesn't mean to say it's meant for the PC. It's a console port and thats shown by the limited options, no dedicated servers, no where to see what the best times are on tracks.

Oh really, where?

I don't see many options at all. Not many graphics options and also where are the sound options? You could change music volume without changing sound volume in TM2 but i don't see them in TMT.
