TMT needs real online servers

Post by rat_in_car » 24 Apr 2016, 11:32

Idea that every player can easily created his own server was maybe good in theory, but in practice it turned out to be wrong. Thousand of servers (rooms) created by players are mostly empty. There are few popular Canyon servers, some mixed one with Nadeo only maps and huge numers of empty servers with one or two maps. If someone wants to play lagoon maps, has only option to play on empty server alone.

People made over 14 thousand maps (on PC and even more on PS4), lagoon on PC has over 4 thousand maps but nodoby plays them. I think Nadeo should create some servers and keep them on top of list - mixed envs, single envs, with Nadeo maps and with community maps (even random choosen, based on map type and lenght).

Or maybe there should be more filter options like "hide servers with less than 20 maps" or "show only servers with community maps". Maybe even server list based on popularity (how many players has server in their favourites).

I don't know how exactly it may be done, but few servers with lot of players will be much better than thousand of empty rooms. Come on - we have new environment and people still plays on Canyon servers with maps converted from TM2 or servers with easy Nadeo maps? I think lot of people wants to play new maps and envs but without priviledged servers this is just impossible.

Maybe solution would be some limitations - for example rooms can be created only if number of maps is greater than 10? I don't know but anything will be better than what is now.

Just went into online mode. That was disgraceful. Had to play some Canyon fullspeed to make few %. One Canyon server with 40 players, one all-envi server with 40 people, an other one with 25 people but level too low to win %. Rest is empty, with bad maps or Nadeo one. Interface is ugly, can't find good servers. No only-stadium, or only-lagoon server with decent map and decent number of player (well, 0 in fact). Nah, really it's worse and worse.

I spent over 20 minutes to search at least one Valley or Lagoon server with more than 1 map and with community maps only. I found nothing! Ok, I found one lagoon server with few decent maps by one author, but that's all. And server was empty. So even if someone (like me) create room with selected community maps , nobody can find that room because it needs lot of time to enter every one-map room to check.

IMO servers with Nadeo maps should be made only by Nadeo - and they can be official servers. Like "official white", "official green" etc. Rest of servers should have limit "at least 10 maps and at least 3 authors".

Also - awards will be very helpful to select maps for own server.

Please, do something! This game starts to be boring. I play today on Canyon server (even if I wanted Lagoon or Valley) because that was my only option (except one server with Nadeo maps only). And even on that server maps are the same like yesterday and day before etc. BORING!

I really can help someone with maps if someone wants to start his own room. My room is mostly inactive (who can find it?) but maybe someone, with little help of community, made good lagoon room? With nice maps, previously tested etc. We're community, we can do it if Nadeo can't.

I see the problem and I have also searched. But it's made himself, Nadeo can not help it.
Clear if any can open up a space which one it does not matter whether others to come or not, free is for free and everyone would be stupid if he did not do this.
It is but what they do with it in the hands of users and they can do something with it.
Sit down together, 2, 3, 4, people and created spaces like her they want to have.
The problem will then be how it is now, others should / must therefore come to the area is famous.
This is the problem with a space does not disappear from the scene.

I really didn't understand a single sentence from you. You can't just copy german sentences and just translate the words. English language has a completely different sentence structure..

Anyway back to topic:

I don't think real online servers would change anything on the population of the game, aside from the fact that Nadeo probably won't put any more effort into this game.

They just wanted to have some quick money before they could continue working on MP.

About the lack of lagoon and valley servers: it was a mistake by Nadeo to recycle Stadium again even if it would've been for consoles only. Due to the popularity of it it steals the show for the fresh envis. No one wants to learn the new envi when they can just hop on a server with their beloved Canyon or Stadium

Actually there's not that much Stadium servers too... There's no at all which have a decent number of player (by that I mean 10+ players).

Don't think Stadium has something to do with this. But Canyon benefits from its position in the solo campaign, since it's the first environment and players had to play 10 maps on it. I guess many player didn't continue solomode so they only know Canyon. It's weird but I think it has to do with that.
