1st It is not a new game. Some thing might be new but it's like a rework. (appart from lagoon)
2nd I regret buying 3 TM games on maniaplanet since now i'm being told there is a standalone version with all of them + another one together without titlepacks and such dividing stuff.
I don't get the point of trackmania in maniaplanet now... oh wait, tm turbo funding. I feel i've been "used"

Not only you my friend :<LT.Forever wrote:Am I the only one who feels like TM Turbo is a massive kick in the face for ManiaPlanet users?
There is nothing interesting in whole Hello Planet #5. There is big amount of nothing

Why Nadeo could not precise anything? Because of $$$? In my opinion the best way it would be release TM Turbo only on console, modificate whole ManiaPlanet and add new environment. Why they don't wanna see the best options?
What is the problem on steam delete all TM2 parts, make only one TM2 and make environments as DLC? Thanks to what they would not been any problem with multi-envi.....

That does not make any sense at all.Marzyciel wrote: What is the problem on steam delete all TM2 parts, make only one TM2 and make environments as DLC? Thanks to what

Hey, Lagoon looks really cool.
I still don't understand one thing, what is the difference between owning all environments in ManiaPlanet and TM Turbo? Will we ever see the upgraded environments (international stadium, drift canyon etc.) in MP? Are tracks compatible between TM Turbo and MP?
This game seems to be a pretty risky move, it could separate the community even more.
It also looks very cool, so I am looking forward to play it

Re: Hello Planet #5
Toninus, the goal is to make the gameplay as close as possible and we will even update the Maniaplanet ones to enable more easily players to jump from one game to another. I am thinking about the antispam in Valley for example. It may break some world records, but I am sure some players will be good enough to reset them even better ^_^ More and more elements to change gameplay may appears in Maniaplanet over time, like the gravity this month.
To export tracks would be complicated since various datas are expected to be different.
No collisions
For online, info will come later, but I doubt we will do cross-platform. For Uplay, I need to look more at it before giving answers: I have a meeting for this soon
I will be back later for more answers. I will avoid to do all in a rush

Re: Hello Planet #5
I think there is only one main question we all care about right now.
Will ManiaPlanet's TM and TM Turbo be the same game in future? Will they have same servers, physics etc? Because of MP releasing the separate game for PC would be quite senseless imo, even though the news are really great for console peasants. If you have two Trackmanias with same environments etc on PC, there's no hope uniting the community at all.
So basically, will ManiaPlanet 4.0 or 5.0 be TM Turbo for PC, changing pretty much everything yet being the same game?
Last but not least, I hope you won't be sold for Uplay. I know exactly zero people who like it, which is kinda sad truth
Nevertheless, good luck!

Re: Hello Planet #5
Personally, it wasn't a delight to read this new hello planet article. Assumptions are confirmed (hopefully Hylis is going to disprove this assumption) the community is going to be splitted even more. I thought if Nadeo has learned one thing then it would have been that splitting the even small community isn't a good choice? Well, expanding its franchise on new territories is absolutely fine but the way how it was carried out... I am shaking my head. One could have made this TM Turbo as a console-standalone product. So Maniaplanet (only avaibale on PC) is the competitive + creative plattform whereas TM turbo (only availabe on consoles) is the "casual plattform".. but TM turbo being availabe on PC simultaneously to Maniaplanet........
And the fact that Nadeo has to work on even one more giant product from now on, TM turbo... it's not like Nadeo is struggling to treat each game (Trackmania with it's environments and Shootmania Storm) equally. I would have used the newly recruited developers to support old TM² titles like valley, canyon etc. instead of dividing them on one more plattform (Turbo).
Without doubt, there are some good news within the article

Re: Hello Planet #5
I don't understand what this means. Will there be a discount for owners of the current ^2 titles? We intend to make a commercial move for players who wish all TM envs in Maniaplanet & the TM Turbo game.
