Thank Cerovan for explaining it a bit.
My biggest wish is, that you talk more to us, the whole community. And about what?
1. About what your long-term plan exactly is. Both, Trackmania and Shootmania loose many players these days. For example Shootmania has got around 200 Players who were online in past 24 hours, which is kind of nothing. In Trackmania only Stadium has got many players left and maybe Canyon. Valley and Lagoon? Not many players there as well.
We just wanna know, what your plan is, what are you working on and what will be the next big step?
2. You should inform all players about an update a few days before it arrives. Many of the past updates werent compatible to older versions, so that server hoster needed to update their servers fastly. Its a problem for cups, cause sometimes the hosters have not enough time to update before the next cup starts (e.g. Paragon Cups).
3. For MP5 it would be nice to have a longer Closed Beta first, where everything important could be tested before the release and more bugs could be fixed. And let server hosters host servers since the beginning of the beta, not only a few days before the beta ends.

No risk, no fun!

Re: A message to the devs...
As for updates, there could be a set day in the week that updates are pushed. For example, only releasing updates on thursdays. That way, every thursday, hosters could prepare for any possible updates. If it was thursday, you wouldn't need to worry as much about friday/saturday/sunday cups (most popular event days I guess), plus you get an additional friday if the thursday patch has any big issues.
(You could also do it earlier in the week I guess. Anyway, I think bringing some regularity would be good.)

Re: A message to the devs...
Lol ... reading the same comments/issues/fears/expectations from the community for the last X years (X depending on the size of your memory, i can't tell, but for (too) long that's sure )
Re: A message to the devs...
It's only because Ubi/Nadeo themselves don't care. Otherwise it's a great game with great potential, the best competitive FPS gameplay in my opinion. There were times when SM had 1000 people online on par with TM2. It's just the devs like to have their stuff broken and unsupported for years.
Re: A message to the devs...
i think the whole silence thing from the nando end is pretty silly. i understand you, perhaps, want to surprise the community with the things you do to keep it fun and interesting, but if its at the cost of actual functionality, whats the point?
i dont know what drives further development of this game at this point. if it really is just hylis' vision, as the now meme-like legend says, then perhaps its time to have a retrospective look at where a single mans vision has lead this game to in the past few years. even if we ignore the colossal PR failure this game has been, unless the idea was to sell people a game that doesnt work so you can eventually just play alone on user generated maps, you might want to change your approach. im not trying to say this game itself is a failure, i think its a wonderful creation. in fact, its so good that youve managed to get a whole community involved enough to actually care for the future of the game e.g. spam and other people who contributed to his post.
that being said, that love is starting to fade at an increasing pace.
i used to have a math teacher who would always give me a hard time for never doing my homework or paying attention in class. she would yell at me in front of everyone even though i was one of the top students. i never understood what her problem was or why she even gave a shit since i was doing fine anyway. one day she told me to stay after class for a meeting with her. she broke down in tears over me not doing my best because she believed i had so much more in me, so much potential that i was wasting because i wasnt trying to be better. she had about 180 other kids to teach math to but she gave a shit enough about me to go through that. ive never forgotten a word she said to this day.
you have people in this community that are as passionate about this game as my math teacher was, people that want to see the game succeed. i understand that we as players dont own the rights to the intellectual property youve created and that simply by buying the games we dont buy a say in where this game is headed. but come on, its painfully obvious that the reason people give a crap enough and make these kind of posts is because its so god damn painful to watch all of this go to waste. the quicker you realize that the players and the developers all want the same thing, the quicker we can get back on track.

Re: A message to the devs...
It was sad to see Canyon ROC is now down to only 2 full servers instead of 3 (it was pretty low to begin with, but it's even less now). Really sucks.

This is summer, "main staff" must be on holidays ? "Nadeo", read this post again and again. The majority of the complains here are just telling the same things than this post, sometimes (rarely to be honest) in rude words, but still, everything is coming from the same place : heart.
Those pretending they would do better at developping a game than you don't know what they are talking about, but this is a minority.
But some of us know well the inside-game, their community, habbits of the casual/community players, the point where we have clearly an edge over you developpers. So their advice has a real value to consider. Hard to sort the good from the bad yeah, but still important for you to consider. And this valuable advice is leaving the place more and more with the time. I'm fascinated there is still a constructive force in this game after all this time. I left this force, but still watching this from outside with curiosity. That's surely your biggest achievement with your past success, to have created this.
So your fault is to waste that.
