You bring up some good points in your post andrus. I have to respond to this one though:

Probably true. But, in my defense... I didn't buy ShootMania Storm until December 2012 (when grappling hooks came). That's about six months after you could first purchase it. I really wasn't sure I even wanted it. The update with grappling hooks finally convinced me. But it took many months and lots of updates before I was finally ready to buy. So I'm not as big of a Nadeo fanatic as you might think.
That having been said, I just haven't found any other games that provide the same kind of fun and replay value as Nadeo's games (Minecraft came close). So I do see Nadeo's games as a good investment.
I have my concerns about adding six more environments to the game. For one thing, the Dedicated server grows larger every time a new game is added to ManiaPlanet. If six more environments were added, wouldn't the Dedicated server software grow to be several gigabytes or larger? That becomes quite an obstacle to updating your server, especially when your server may only be supporting a single title.
The issue of cost is definitely one a lot of people focus on. I can understand people not wanting to purchase a game they already have or which contains minimal new features. Wouldn't offering TM2U for free to people who own TMUF be killing most of Nadeo's profits? The majority of people who are going to get it would probably be owners of TMUF anyway. So it makes it questionable to embark on the whole enterprise in the first place.
It's true, I don't want to see TMUF die, but at the moment it is around the same level of activity as Canyon (I'm basing this on TMX KO and MTC participation and number of tracks uploaded on MX TM2C vs TMX TMUF.
So I don't see TMUF going anywhere for a while. It works on Windows 7, and probably on Windows 8, and so we will be able to play it for many years to come. Yeah, of course I'd love to see how it looks with ManiaPlanet's graphics engine... I'd love to see all the environments get block updates in the future... and I'd love to be able to copy/paste my Island track when I build into the side of the building area, but I can live without those things for now.
I'm anxious for TM2Valley and QuestMania, and whatever else "new" that Nadeo has in store for us.
