This is a question everyone should ask before possibly buying ;)
So you run over to your little friends and play tm so you dont have to buy it yourself to test it?? (so much trust you have in TM). most people dont know anyone they can run over too and play the game unless you telling me you pirated it .

then you should grab it.
Not all the maps are crazy, you just have to find a nice server :thumbsup: ;
You really dont get what this is about - leave the thinking for other people and rather shut your piehole
Its not about some fancy tracks that are fun to play its about the physics programed before that worked in one game but got left out in others.
TMarc wrote:If you just don't want to pay, then stay with TMNF and the dirty Stadium :roflol:
I payed for the game thank you very much thank you for assuming Im a cheep bastard.. :pop:

1st of All TMarc I coudnt give a damn how many of these conversations are out there..Im putting down my comments just like everyone else
No *2 I have a brain.. I use my own thoughs. Im talking to a comunity of people that has the same feelings, not the ones that disagree and try to convince me to change my mind to THEIR opinion!
No *3 I appreciate people that ''Thinks LOGIC'' and doesnt just sit like a brain dead zombie and just takes everything the world shoves in their hands!! ...example... can you remeber in the olden days, games use to have DEMOS... they where so long you'd actually feal like you playing the full game!! Levels where long. Graphics where okay.. storylines where interesting and the game kept you playing for months.. nowdays the games have become a '' you have to buy it to see how we bullshit you'' market... storylines are bullshit... levels are short...the game is over before you can enjoy it... and so it goes for online games always repeating in the same ripoff play patterns.. kill 10 bears... 5 cats and 16 bleeding fingers..who cares. Car games are always trying to become more realistic...so realistic that it becomes Boring!! So.. the question here is (Maybe Nadeo should ask this to themselves aswell when they sat around the brainstorming table)... have you spend your money worth for something NEW....COOL, DIFFERENT and awesome.. or just the same bullshit as you had before!... YES you did. and you even got less this time!! (just a graphics upgrade, damage mod and slight improving of car handling...and other small things that dont interest much)

AND yes DrownedOut.. you caught my thoughs exacly... I have no problems with the other games. They for the players that PREFER them... yet.. they had something in Stadium that was working... the car and the road performed as one.. you could really feal your car interact with the platform you drving on... there is that feeling.. So for Nadeo... all they had to do in TM2 to improve their game {programing}to keep a high expectation they promised to people..make the game feel more alive then just some cars flying around with no real purpose yet keeping it fun!
I always say.. if its not broken.. dont fix it.. if its working... keep using it. If you have time.. improve it.
Tm2 is actually a additional game. NOT a new game..they have not offered anything new...they just want new money! 2 money machines running. Whats next... Trackmania for girls... then I should guess I belong there.

I have nothing bad against the game nor Nadeo.. I bought TMUF to support them from the start so im not a FREE player that just thumb sucks everything they get for free and then have the balls to complain when i didnt even contribute...I give these comments in hopes they understand what I mean and improve themselves above the usual expected market...I expected nothing from them.. didnt get excited for the arival of TM2.. and most people feel the same..why?? answer that question yourself. Clue:(they always come out with small extra's to make more money out of you)Regardless of how they make their money, we a community that's suppose to care and help the game for our own fun, Not sit here and argue about what persons comments is more ''worthy'' then others. Its not Youtube..take your negative critasism and go make fun on someone else cause you actually make no sense TMarc ..I was lucky enough to get the game without buying it so I can test for myself if its worth spending my money or am I wasting my time and hard earned pennies. So for me, easy to hit the delete button -Priceless. For others. Not so easy to get over the fact they wasted their money if they liked only stadium. Thats actually all i wanted to bring under peoples attention.. if they know this good for them.. but atleast I did my part letting ''thinking'' people know what bullshit is out there. :3

Thinking along these lines ... the server you chose IS important. I hate narrow roads so the servers I 'Fave' seldom have them and those that do usually keep them short and/or straight.. it's a racing game not pinball. Wide open canyon plains with only the canyons, CPs and afew well positioned signs and turbos to guide you is my idea of heaven lol. Check out the the Dirt, Dirty and Drift servers in the Server Seach box :)

The only other real complaint at the moment will be the intended price of the new environments. By paying the same price as we did for the original starting platform (TM2 Canyons), it feels as if I will be paying for a complete different game again .. e.g. TM2 Valley .or TM2 Arena, even though we've already paid for the game engine etc when all we reall need pay for is the scenery/environment. It's been suggested that the price of the add-on environments here in the UK will be £20GBP. Assuming, and just assuming, there are seven (7) environments in total. Thats a massive £140 for the complete racing game !!! Just alittle OTT don't you think? I'll support Nadeo but not if they try the 'take the mickey' (make a mug out of me) .... Lets have a sensible price please.

Nope.

It's fun because it's Trackmania, but it offers absolutely nothing new over TMNF. It looks better and it is easier, but the variety is just not there because Nadeo decided they'd rather make good looking track pieces instead of versatile track pieces. Nadeo wants you to drift through narrow roads or at least GP roads; walls and loops were literally an afterthought added during beta.

Seeing as the game offers less variety than TMNF, has less content because things like TMNF car skins don't work anymore and costs €20 instead of €0, I see no reason to play TM2 over TMNF. Player numbers reflect this - even now TMNF has way more people online than TM2. Right now there are exactly 500 servers with players in them online on TMNF. In TM2 there are only 91 servers with players in them.

TM2 is aimed at people who are not Trackmania fans. It looks shiny, has plenty of coverage in various media, has a relative lot of people online, is probably pretty crazy and awesome if you've never played a Trackmania game before and it is much easier than TMNF. Ultimately the game is pretty shallow once you figure out you simply have to drift every corner except the ones that are blatantly noslide. And from what I see on various gaming sites, half of the people interested in the game will not buy it anyway because it isn't on Steam.

Nadeo is showing continuous commitment to improving TM2 which is great but I fear the damage is already done. The game is dead, many interested gamers were unable to buy it, many stadium fans already quit, few or no new players are coming in and yet their business model depends on selling the same game twice again to players who want new environments. They needed that first title to be a smash hit. This would have worked better if the first environment was free, TMNF/TMUF style, but that's why I'm not working for Nadeo I suppose.

The Trackmania era is over, but I hope Nadeo hits paydirt with Shootmania or Questmania. They deserve it for creating a series that kept us entertained for years. :)
My God is a vengeful God.

Well it is worth it. But I wouldn't do it again. Not in this state. This is hardly feature-full beta.

Is TM2 worth your money? Yes. Is it a flawless product that no nitpicker will be able to point their fingers at? No.

Was TMNF a flawless product that no nitpicker could ever point a finger at? HELL no. Emphatically not. How many people, how many threads, were talking about this bug, or that bug, or that ESWC was better, or the landing bug, or that dirt ruined everything, or that letting the Nations players mix with the United players was a poor decision...the list goes on and on. And, by comparison, TM2 is a FAR more polished game. You all are, seriously, spoiled for thinking otherwise. There's really no other way to say it. TM2 rocks, but for whatever reason, you want more. Well, this isn't Stadium 2, it's Trackmania 2. Get over yourself, or go back to Stadium.

Oh dear look at TMarc.. 15 years old, has the page bookmarked with his friends and closely monitoring whos saying bad about his precious little game ALL DAY LONG so he can bite every person back with a different opinion

If you busy doing a big stroke job, stroking yourself and stroking nadeo then fine by me... have your stroking and enjoy it but others are having their say and as much as you stroking yourself you canot delete other peoples comments here. We have bookmarked our words in the history of TM - i guess you always have to have the last say in everything... that explains why you back here everyday! and I dont have to live with having to come back here everyday to see what you have to say.. bye TMAaaaaRK have fun with your stroking forum life  :teub:

Too everyone else (EnaiSiaion as well) thanks for commenting here about your views of it in a non retarded manner, it was nice hearing what others think to help me decide. Enjoy TM and hopefully long lives TMNF - Im out!
Cheers o/''*

Trolling and resorting to "ad hominem" as well? This sure is a subjective way to answer your own question... What about you had spent more time on objectiveness instead? :/

(Okay, it turns out I managed to write an essay here for the first time... No guarantee that I got everything right. I hardly felt like posting in this thread in the first place.)

TM² was not expected to be fully completed at launch. This merely is a point at which the game is considered as basically playable (with the main/core/essential features such as racing, track-making, online play, etc), at which players can finally enjoy the Canyon environment with a reasonable amount of issues/bugs (yes, you can't expect large software to be bug-free).

Of course, a certain amount of bugs remain, not all imaginable features (such as Stunts - perhaps the mode's new implementation is being thought over -, Puzzle, those announced here, and possibly many other aspects) are present and working fine. That's what updates are for. This adds to the amount of work Nadeo's developers have to (and want to) do, in addition to conceiving extra environments and the other 2 ManiaPlanet games. Therefore, you can't expect to have everything in TM² at this point - updates will come progressively, as time goes by.

On the one hand, if you were disappointed with the current content of the game, waiting some time (some weeks, some months?) and hoping for TM²'s (ManiaPlanet's) worthiness to improve may be a wise choice.
On the other hand, if you're disappointed for a reason such as "because it's not like Stadium", well, it's just a question of taste as far as this simple remark (hardly with any kind of explanation) is concerned... Which goes to show that constructive criticism tends to be more helpful.
