#1, the "action" button.
Having multiple functions bound to one key is unacceptable and also pointless. I have REALLY small hands, and there are a total of about 23 keys I can reach around the WASD hand position that could be used. You need to implement separate rebindable functions for sprint, jump, and activate pad. With the system as it is, there are a lot of maps that have pads that are way too easy to fall off of or they just get in the way because you cannot jump or sprint while on any kind of pad, which is stupid and limiting if you want to get from point a to b and there is one in your way.
#2, the FoV
The fact is that a lot of people have different preferences about this, as to what feels natural and what they are used to, depending on how far away from their screen they sit. Please add a customizable FoV, limit it to 110 if you think going higher then that should be considered cheating or something, though there is really no justification for that. It's a constraint that lowers the skill ceiling of the game by limiting situational awareness.
#3, better advanced visual options
The mania engine is nice, but it doesn't run that well on older machines. This wasn't a problem in Trackmania 2, because that game could play fine on 20-30fps. In a competitive twitch based shooter like this, every single frame counts. I have a pretty decent rig, it runs crysis and crysis 2 well, it runs just cause 2 well, it's a gtx470. I can get out a max of 40-50fps in shootmania by turning everything but the texture quality down. You really need to put work into the downscaling so most people with a computer build in the last 4-5 years will be able to play this game at a stable 60fps if you want it to stay competitive while having an active and enjoyable pub / low level play scene.

I agree with all of these statements mostly the part about contols having 2 actions. The jump and the sprint need to be seperated. This and the fov are your 2 biggest issues at this time.

#1: I really disagree on this point of seperating to different buttons, jump and sprint. The game on some maps has an element similar to parkour, in that retaining momentum can be important and enhances the play.
There's little place for timid, overly precise movements - the motion of the avatars just isn't suited to it.
Why not (instead of removing progressive and very functional aspects of the game) why don't we simply ask map creators to playtest those Time Attack maps, select a label according to difficulty when publishing, and consider the way characters in SM move, before they add their maps (again, the playtesting should help catch incompletable creations.)
#2: I agree completely on having the point of FOV setting that the user can adjust.
#3: Bear in mind that it can be more than the graphics card that determines how a game is going to run. A computer's made of various parts. If you want to use the power of your pc to make a statement about how comparitively you reckon the game should run, versus how it currently does: consider posting a bit more info, rather than just declaring it a "pretty decent rig".

Which suggests that your setup may be the determining factor, and not the game for that. Before criticising the game, we really would need to be able to rule that out.I can get out a max of 40-50fps in shootmania by turning everything but the texture quality down
Re: [B.0]Top 3 most important things that need to be changed
I have got 120 hz 3d monitor, samsung 2233rz, i play games at 120 hz. i can get 120 fps in most of fps games, but in shootmania, it cant even reach 100 with lowest graphic settings. game is awesome but i cant feel that awesomeness
Re: [B.0]Top 3 most important things that need to be changed
I like having sprint/jump binded to one key. It makes the movement a little more unique, and adds another skill factor. If people are getting frustrated with it, perhaps they are getting taken out lot because they do not know how to use it well?
Re: [B.0]Top 3 most important things that need to be changed
#1 No, just no. Makes the game more unique, the movement feels smooth. (And for gods sake don't let people jump on the rail-gun platforms) If anything they should learn people how to use it effectively, I did not know how to sprint nor increase my speed when I started playing (I learned that after 10-15 Elite games) but now I do and now it feels awesome, people better on it then me can catch up with me and that is supposed to happen.
#2 I don't feel it but I agree, must be dealt with.
#3 "Trackmania in 20-30fps" o.0 The game I know with absolutely the most speed, not to mention how incredibly good and percise you have to be to be able to take corners effectively just to finish 0.01s faster and become champion of the world. If you are ok with that low fps in a game like that, why do you care about having 50 on an fps? But I would also like to know how good your computer is (not your bloody monitor). Do you maybe run with 1GB RAM? Because if you do you can have the best CPU and GPU in the world and still lag.
So basically, answer this.
RAM?
CPU?

The fact is that I am far from the only one with framerate issues. Both on the forums and in game I've seen people complaining about low framerates. Sure, everyone could spend $500 upgrading their PC to play shootmania, but not everyone can just throw that kind of money around. Increasing the ability to downscale the graphics to get better performance would be very good for the game.Shade0fGrayl wrote: #3: Bear in mind that it can be more than the graphics card that determines how a game is going to run. I play on a 2 years old laptop and the game is very fluid (30 fps or more), settings in "medium"

Oh yeah, new #1 that just occurred to me. Fix the collision engine so players don't get constantly stuck on tiny anthill bumps in the terrain. This is the number one reason that contributes to most of the nadeo-made maps being terrible.
