Eehmz... You can go to the selection editor and select huge pieces of the map if not the whole map and click cut
not to mention all the other things you can do there
*cough*

you need some drops? :0010

I do not want to delete huge selection. I am working on terraforming in a destructive way, this gives me more natural look of the maps. And this was working much easier in TM. Due to the plenty of additional calculations, editing is really slower now.

but its way slower then the "normal" editing ;) what is when you have sth copied? and dont wanna lose it? (you can do macroblock but it needs waaaay more time ;) )

what is when you want to select huge areas? but you need to click on every single block? what is when you didnt hit the block near the selected area? you get an error message

so waay much slower then normal ;)

I also noticed a lot slower response in the TM2: Stadium editor, which was quite annoying as I'm a fast builder. Especially the right-click to turn the blocks and delete function.

I was told already a while ago in the Q&A thread that it is due to a recalculation of the shaders etc. done for each block separately.

The lag while deleting is even worse, but the editor has to calculate much more here, especially related to terraforming.

We definitely need some "rough" editing possibilities, or faster systems
"Rough editing" possibilities is a good idea. At least for the block at the cursor there's no recalculation of the shaders etc. necessary after every rotation, I think. The green box around the actual block is so bright, that you merely see more of the block than the rough form. Recalculation at this point is a waste of precious time, isn't it?

yes and no. With trackmania 1 the placement of blocks did not have an impact on the surrounding blocks.
With TrackMania ², placing or removing a block affects a lot the surroundings, therefore lot of calculations have to be done.
