[TM2] Key - Registration failed internal error [fixed]

I have just bought Trackmania 2 Canyon and pre-puchased Stadium on Steam, and when I go to start up it says:

Key registration failed.
Internal error.

When I get to the main ManiaPlanet screen, Canyon doesn't show up, and when I go to manually add it, I get the same result when entering the key. Is there any way to fix this?

As a sidenote, I had downloaded the beta for Stadium from the MP site, but uninstalled before doing the Steam install. I dont know if this would affect it or not

EDIT: Fixed it, somewhat. loaded up Stadium, went into my profile and entered the key there, giving me access to Canyon. Hopefully this can be helpful for others in the future
