stuck at mysql connection

Post by Kaphene »

So I bought a box, (Linux) I currently having it running 2 servers, in separate folders under root.
I installed PHP and MYSQL, they definitely both exist and are working, I set up an account for the MySQL I made a database called shootmania, and I even gave the user I made all permissions to that database; however I still have the problem that when I try to run MPAseco.sh it simply gives me a number and the log file never gets past

trying connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' with database 'shootmania1'

any help or ideas?

I completely reinstalled MySQL this morning and started fresh, and I can actually technically get MPAseco running now I think, yay me. in the server a message pops up saying jfreu's plugin loaded 0.20 or something close to that
but now I get this in the logs

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_query in /home/kaphene/ShootmaniaServer1/MPAseco/plugins/plugin.rasp.php on line 86

also, nothing actually happens, it doesn't say this server is running MPAseco 0.73 or have an admin panel or anything. I'm new so it could be something really simple I'm overlooking.

alright I completely reinstalled php and php-mysql and I think we are getting just a little bit closer lol

now I get this error

[PHP Warning] mysql_query(): Access denied for user 'kaphene'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

the interesting thing is that 'kaphene'@'localhost' actually does have a password... why is it trying with no password? do I need to remove the password?

Ugh this is being a lot more difficult than it probably should be, but thank you a ton for trying to help me.... I don't understand where 'kaphene'@'localhost' is even coming from because that's not the username I made for mysql and it's not what I have in the localdatabase.xml

that's the user I log into the SSH with.

Holy Cow I almost got it working... donate shows up and admin tools shows up and it says it's running MPAseco and everything, the only thing is that I don't see the map karma vote overlay...
