Maniaplanet 3.0 Philosophy and Ideas

Post by Ozon »

I opened this thread to get an idea of how much MP3.0 will change this game.
Action Maker, "Gates for Siege",... etc etc..

What are your plans? What will be possible from there on? Your visions? Your dreams?

Moving gates have been announced, so I think we will be able to make our own custom moving blocks. :D Not sure of course

For gates, we don't know what type of gate... it's maybe an offzone with some parameters... so in that case no need of animation

Im really hoping thats its a good update of a decent size. A lot of people are really waiting for this update and If it doesnt live up to its expectations a lot of players will be dissapointed.

I always loved the gameplay of Shootmania and for me personally everything outside the gameplay sucked ( cant find a better word for it atm. ). The menus, the chat, manialinks, the way info is shown & even the settings bar. It all looks like something from the 90's... Also the replay editor & mapcreator are all outdated. I mean it all works... but it looks so bad.
I hope ( and NADEO confirmed ) that they really fix this. Im just a bit worried because they really got it WRONG last time ( MP2.0 ) so why would it be better this time? But lets stay optimistic^^

Thats the problem with this game btw... It actually offers so much ( so its worth its 19.99€ ) but it doesnt look finished at all. I'm hoping that with the next update they actually make this game look better and make it feel complete & cool at the same time + adding some new features ( also feeling complete & finished )
With the last 2 updates they made a lot of progress with the design in Shootmania, so maybe I shouldnt worry too much? Only time will tell.

1 thing I'd like to add before I go : I dont like the fact that I have to wait sooooo long for an update ( even if its mega big ). From the minute they fixed a handful of tiny bugs they should update the game. ( like once every 2weeks or month) I think players ( and me ) would appreciate this way of working more because at least we have something to look forward too every month...
If a game isnt super good for 6months, then people just change to another game.

:D Sorry for the long post.
The neverending waiting game has to stop.
